cobraman Posted February 18, 2015 Posted February 18, 2015 This started out as an item I stumbled upon on ebay. It was cheap and I thought it had some nice lines. It is a 1/32 Tamiya model/toy as it can be battery operated. I thought I would try my hand at making something from this simple kit. I used only the body and added wheels and tires from the parts box and cut down some hot rod fenders and took a front and rear axle also. Paint is red, silver and blue followed by decals and clear coat. Added aluminum wheel discs that I bought on ebay. Not very happy with it but it is what it is and thought I would show it anyway. If nothing else maybe I gave you a laugh. : )
wayne swayze Posted February 18, 2015 Posted February 18, 2015 Now, that's different for sure. Looks like it would work IRL. Not too crazy about the fenders tho.
cobraman Posted February 19, 2015 Author Posted February 19, 2015 I agree. It's just a goofy thing I threw together just to build something different.
slusher Posted February 19, 2015 Posted February 19, 2015 Very cool Ray, looks like another speed record breaker. I looks really good...
Sixx Posted February 19, 2015 Posted February 19, 2015 Man, I dig that Ray!!!! You said it's 1/32nd scale...how long is it?? 6-7 inches?? Makes me want one! What's it listed as??
bobthehobbyguy Posted February 19, 2015 Posted February 19, 2015 Interesting project. Is there any date for when it was made. Seems like quite a departure from what tamiya does these days. Nice job on the paint.
Ace-Garageguy Posted February 19, 2015 Posted February 19, 2015 (edited) Paint looks great. i can see why you were inspired to build an LSR car from it. Certainly looks the part. I especially like the rear 3/4 and top shots. Edited February 19, 2015 by Ace-Garageguy
cobraman Posted February 19, 2015 Author Posted February 19, 2015 Thanks guys. I know it's just a silly thing but I enjoyed doing it.
Ramfins59 Posted February 19, 2015 Posted February 19, 2015 Hey Ray, we've gotta get goofy sometimes... it helps us stay sane.
DumpyDan Posted February 20, 2015 Posted February 20, 2015 This is really cool, I would like to get one of these. The only thing is I need to know what the length is. Could you tell me what the length is?
