iamsuperdan Posted November 25, 2015 Posted November 25, 2015 (edited) The weathering on this one is fantastic. I picked up the molded in white Canon version a couple of years ago, haven't started it yet. I kick myself, back in the late 80s on a trip to England, I bought the red version shown at a car boot sale. Slapped it together, it rolled off the shelf one too many times, and I tossed the whole things. I wish I hadn't done that. Would have been great to rebuild.I'm planning on building mine showroom stock. Although if I had weathering skills, yours would be an inspiration! Chuck Most Posted November 26, 2015 Posted November 26, 2015 I wondered what happened to this one. Loving what I'm seeing.
Mr.Zombie Posted November 27, 2015 Author Posted November 27, 2015 I scratchbuild the wipers out of 9 pieces each. I planned to order photoetch parts, but as you can see, everything can be built from scraps and junk... And that's a wrap. It's done: http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/topic/108150-1984-ford-transit-esci-124/
Spex84 Posted November 29, 2015 Posted November 29, 2015 Incredible work. The rust on the body near the front bumper looks 100% real, complete with flaking and bubbling. How did you do that?Great scratchbuilding and detailing..the wipers, tool box, floor mats...and I love the fire extinguisher poking out under the seat; it looks real too!
