JPolli Posted February 22, 2015 Posted February 22, 2015 Might anyone know if this blower hat (see PIC) can be found found in a particular kit or from a resin caster? Thank you Mark Sebella - Photos:Videos of OLD SCHOOL DRAG CARS.pdf
Snake45 Posted February 22, 2015 Posted February 22, 2015 That's not what I'd call a blower "hat" (at least no one called them that back in the day), it's just a simple scoop sitting on what looks like common garden-variety Hilborn injectors. Not sure I've ever seen exactly that shape in a kit, but it shouldn't be too hard to scratchbuild.
DrKerry Posted February 22, 2015 Posted February 22, 2015 More of an injector hat and like Richard said it could be easily made.. I've not seen anything like it in kit form. Resin I couldn't tell ya, there may be something like it out there... Good luck with it!!!
Mr mopar Posted February 22, 2015 Posted February 22, 2015 Try Altered states models , he has a small mailbox scoop you could modifiy
JPolli Posted February 22, 2015 Author Posted February 22, 2015 Doug Spencer - Yes, I thought the same thing about the Altered States mailbox scoop. May need to do that. Hopefully, someone else will come up with a few more suggestions.
disabled modeler Posted February 22, 2015 Posted February 22, 2015 (edited) How about starting with a part of the body from a ball point pen?...should be a close starting point to make one some have a shape like that. Edited February 22, 2015 by disabled modeler

Or ask model airplane friends if they have any spare belly tanks or bombs (1/48 or 1/72 scale) that might be a good starting point for that shape. I'm thinking maybe the 108-gallon P-51/P-47 tank in 1/72 might be close. Hmmmmm.

Jim Your welcome Jim....and thanks... . necessity is the mother of invention and with a budget like mine one learns quick....
Mr mopar Posted February 22, 2015 Posted February 22, 2015 What you really need is front and back and top shot of that scoop to be real sure of it's shape. my two cents!
Kenny B Posted February 23, 2015 Posted February 23, 2015 My two cents. Depending on dimentions an end of the handle off a plastic disposable razer. Depending on the razer as well. Also I like the big fat pen idea that tapers. Ken.
oldnslow Posted February 24, 2015 Posted February 24, 2015 OK, under the headers, the lettering has Fum's, I don't recognise that one, anyone know what it's for?
