suggy60 Posted February 24, 2015 Posted February 24, 2015 Hi After visiting this forum for a long time, I've finally decided to take the plunge and post a build so I've gone for the Moebius Lonestar but building it with the Revell instructions as I found them easier to understand than the Moebius ones. Will be as per instructions, the only change being that I think I am going with Tamiya Metallic Blue for the bodywork. Engine is assembled, chassis glued ready for painting and starting to paint, assemble other parts ready for when the chassis has been painted. Apologies for the picture quality, taken with iPhone.
Mopar - D Posted February 25, 2015 Posted February 25, 2015 Welcome to the site Tony! Nice start on your LoneStar those colors will look sharp on it.
tbill Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 engine looks fabulous, good looking work so far. look forward to updates on this build.
suggy60 Posted March 25, 2015 Author Posted March 25, 2015 Latest progress, chassis coming along. Next step is to paint and assemble the front axle. Couple of pics posted below.
Mike77 Posted March 25, 2015 Posted March 25, 2015 (edited) Great start on your project, love the blue! I found the Moebius Lonestar instructions to be more complicated than necessary, are the Revell ones more straightforward? Edited March 25, 2015 by Mike77

suggy60 Posted April 11, 2015 Author Posted April 11, 2015 Axles assembled, painted and attached. Engine also attached, took a bit of work as had to remove the front axle to allow we to open the chassis to get the engine in. Front axle re-attached and all good. Pics below:
kilrathy10 Posted April 14, 2015 Posted April 14, 2015 (edited) Great job, so far.....I tell you, this is one of the best models I've seen come along in a very good while.....Now when you get to the little lights and such, you might consider using white glue for all of them instead of all those tiny clear pieces....Testors works great for this.....Then go over them with an orange Sharpie after they dry....I found it to work, quite well....And MUCH faster......But, again, only a suggestion.... suggy60 Posted April 14, 2015 Author Posted April 14, 2015 Thanks for the comment and for the suggestion Kilrathy, I'll bear that in mind. Not thought that far ahead to be honest but it's something I will consider nearer the time.
