Here is my warped '58 Lincoln 4 door hardtop promo. I've never seen one that hasn't been warped. I've seen them straightened before. Is there anyone out there who can straighten this, then cast the body in resin? I'd send it to you if you think you can do it. There are a whole bunch of us replica stock guys that would love to have one of these in our collections, although not a warped one. I have seen the roof casted before, as it's a removeable roof, and I believe the same one used on the 59-60 Lincoln 2 door kits. Any interest guys?

Alan....I have the 2door HT version with the roof being a separate part but the roof has a crack all the way through from front to back of it...the car has a slight warp to it but is not too bad it still looks decent....no clue how to try and correct warp with these.

Have you tried Modelhaus ? .... I'm pretty sure he has one

I cant say that I've ever heard anyone have good luck straightening these things.

Modelhus has a 58 Lincoln, but its a 2 door

Trouble is the bodies are shrunken as well as warped. I have a '58 that's a bit better but it still has that same roof sag (on the passenger side only). I think what you'd need to do to make a decent master is to take the '58 chrome and resculpt a styrene '59 kit or Craftsman body to look like a '58.

John Heir , one of the Pioneers in Model Car Resin Casting made a '58 Continental kit . All these of the "large and in charge Uni-body Lincolns that out Cadillac'ed Cadliiac" MY's were all 2 dr HT Continential . The '58 Packards were Sport , not Luxury Cars and there was a Void in the Market . The '57 MY , Packard did not participate in .

The '58's Lincolns Mark series *(ignored by all) had a portion of body surrounding the Canted Quads . Modelhaus carries both the Top Boot and roof . The Windshield Frame is the same for both choices as the Original kits . If there is a way to restore unstable Cyclonic Plastic , I think it would be well known . Anyone want to try for a "cure": ?
