aurfalien Posted February 27, 2015 Posted February 27, 2015 Hi, Any one know how to do this? I've a kit were the tires are just a tad bit too big for its wheels. I see a small gap and the rims are a bit tough to position right due to play. Thanks in advance.

Not knowing the tires you are wanting to mount on what wheels, a short answer is--other than cutting the tire, removing a slice from it (cross-section) then figuring out how to glue it back together cleanly, about the only thing I can think of is to wrap a thin, flat strip of Evergreen styrene around the wheel before mounting the tire. angelo7 Posted February 27, 2015 Posted February 27, 2015 As Art says: "to wrap a thin, flat strip of Evergreen styrene around the wheel". But I used instead black electrical tape.
Ace-Garageguy Posted February 27, 2015 Posted February 27, 2015 Yup. And I've used 3M fine-line tape, which has a very good adhesive. Color it with a black sharpie. Betcha can't see it.
randx0 Posted February 27, 2015 Posted February 27, 2015 What kit is it from? Sometimes the rims go in the tire in a specific way . I know that this has probably already occurred to you or doesn't apply here but perhaps someone else doesn't know.
aurfalien Posted February 27, 2015 Author Posted February 27, 2015 Hi, The company who makes the kit said pretty much the same thing ya'll are sayin. At any rate, tape it is. And I cannot tell from the shot angle if any tape is there. Knowing your work, it would not be something easily pointed out as you sir, are a master craftsman for sure. I'll look for the 3M fromage.
Draggon Posted February 28, 2015 Posted February 28, 2015 Soak them in brake fluid. I found out by accident it works on vinyl tires, I dont know about rubber.
