62rebel Posted March 4, 2015 Posted March 4, 2015 specifically the series 1 and 2, preferably short ("standard") wheel base. Airfix must have done one... maybe Heller? anybody?
jbwelda Posted March 4, 2015 Posted March 4, 2015 hmmm strange as it may seem I don't recall any. 1/18 die casts and 1/43 factory builds but I am coming up with a zero even from Airfix. jb
Art Anderson Posted March 4, 2015 Posted March 4, 2015 Did not Revell make one back in the 1980's? Art
wayne swayze Posted March 4, 2015 Posted March 4, 2015 I definately had one...1:25 scale...long time ago...back in the 80's IIRC. Went looking for it, but couldn't find it. But it was really in my place at one time.
randx0 Posted March 4, 2015 Posted March 4, 2015 I think Dean Milano may have turned a toy into a nice replica at one point , I don't remember a kit of one though . revell made an xjs based on the t.v. show " The Saint" .
wayne swayze Posted March 4, 2015 Posted March 4, 2015 My bad. I did have the XJ S, not the XJ 6. Anybody know who made the XJ S?
randx0 Posted March 4, 2015 Posted March 4, 2015 http://www.kandrreplicas.co.uk/These guys make a series 3 in 1/24th .
Matt Bacon Posted March 4, 2015 Posted March 4, 2015 I have the K&R XJ13. It's nicely detailed and makes up into an excellent replica that really looks the part. You need to know, though, that they are large white metal kits -- no plastic anywhere except for a vacform "glasshouse". You need to be happy cleaning up and building with white metal parts, and handling what's a pretty big and heavy model as you work on it. No doubt, though... when they're finished, they have real heft and "presence". bestest, M.
randx0 Posted March 4, 2015 Posted March 4, 2015 My bad. I did have the XJ S, not the XJ 6. Anybody know who made the XJ S?Revell made one for the T.V. show the saint , also Hasegawa made a couple .
Art Anderson Posted March 4, 2015 Posted March 4, 2015 K&R Replicas, out of the UK, offers a 1/24 scale Jaguar XJ-6 kit, in cast metal--looks to be pretty comprehensive kit. Price? Approximately $152, depending on the rate of exchange between the US Dollar and British Pound Sterling. http://www.grandprixmodels.com/searchdetail.php?ref=KAR2427%26%2FK%2D%26%3B%2DR%2DReplicas%2D1%3A24%2DJaguar%2DXJ6%2DSeries%2D3%2Dmodel Art
Ace-Garageguy Posted March 5, 2015 Posted March 5, 2015 http://www.kandrreplicas.co.uk/ These guys make a series 3 in 1/24th . WHOOPEE!!! I've been looking for an XJ-6 in 1:24-1:25 since I bought my 1986 SIII in 1995. YIPEE !!!
jbwelda Posted March 5, 2015 Posted March 5, 2015 that Revell XJ-S is basically simplified junk. the Hasagawa is much better, in race or street trim. jb
