Ken Gilkeson Posted March 10, 2015 Author Posted March 10, 2015 chassis started, like the wheelbase but going to make a few small changes to fit the direction this will be going.
Petetrucker07 Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 Nice start. The frame looks pretty darn good so far.

Ken Gilkeson Posted March 13, 2015 Author Posted March 13, 2015 have used testors products all these years. concentrate on refining the kits. no airbrush, no primer just part prep. the more you spray something the better the chances of something going wrong. my experience anyway for what it's worth. ;-))
kilrathy10 Posted March 13, 2015 Posted March 13, 2015 Looking good, Man....I'm with you on your thinking regarding paint....I have to use primer, for the paint I use....Krylon, Rustoleum, and such, but I know the more I try to get things evened out the worse it gets.....I've screwed some decent paint jobs up trying to make it "a little bit better".....I used Testors spray paints for a while, but I get way more for my money with the conventional cans.....So I learned to use those, but I liked the fact that you could spray the Testors paints right on the model without primer.....This one has a great start....
Ken Gilkeson Posted March 13, 2015 Author Posted March 13, 2015 use krylon also but without primer. primer sand primer sand. I don't want a rough surface. properly used paint you shouldn't need it. unless you are controlling the hue of a candy or metallic. primering and sanding destroys details. trust me there isn't close to a hundred dollars in any model posted. you may want to look at that rim above just a little more closely. when you see the difference you will understand why I'm posting. pictures don't lie and speak for themselves. thanx for your interest and keep building JT.
Petetrucker07 Posted March 13, 2015 Posted March 13, 2015 WOW. That sure is purty. Nice job, fenders looks great.
Ken Gilkeson Posted March 14, 2015 Author Posted March 14, 2015 a set but not a pair, before they were fixed
Jim B Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 I like the grey/black/silver combination on the Winslow Stripes. Very cool.
Ken Gilkeson Posted March 15, 2015 Author Posted March 15, 2015 I'd like to thank all for showing an interest and being polite. some of my statements my come across rude, they're not meant to be. only trying to be helpful, I'd rather just post a picture and not say anything.
Ken Gilkeson Posted March 15, 2015 Author Posted March 15, 2015 thank you jim, but those fenders go to another build. they were handy. ;-)) I very seldom use paint straight from the bottle. for instance this engine should be white, made it cream to add interest and make it look more pleasing. it will look straight white against the colors around it. same for fog lamps, mixed outlined in steel.
Petetrucker07 Posted March 15, 2015 Posted March 15, 2015 Nice work on the front end of the truck. The amber on the lights looks really good.
Mopar - D Posted March 16, 2015 Posted March 16, 2015 Nice build you have going I like your detail that you are sharing here.
Ken Gilkeson Posted March 18, 2015 Author Posted March 18, 2015 (edited) thank all for kind words and following. a couple pics of the rog 359 I am building. note the finish on the wheels and grill surround. Edited March 18, 2015 by Ken Gilkeson
