Just want to say Hello and I'm back.....again..

13 July 2014 - 12:21 PM

Hi Everyone,

Was offline for a bit, just going through some tough times after a split from my wife  in Oct. and a heart attack in Feb. Left me behind.  But things are getting better for me and hopefully soon I can get motivated to spend some time building...again..! ( only finished 3 in the last 9 years )

A good sign I'm on my way back.....I went to a LHS for first time in many months and was able to purchase the Malco gasser Mustang I have been waiting for it's release, then was unable to buy it then.

....and was great to chat with store owner again..!    and I picked up the newest issue of Model Cars Magazine...

Thanks for looking ... looking foreword to seeing everyone here on the forum..!!

from the Rubber City and home of LeBron James... Akron, Ohio USA...

Nice to see about me filled out..!

Hello Everyone..!

Just realized I didn't fill out an about me section on my profile page. It's nice to see info on fellow members, and to know the age of builders helps to appreciate the build in a different light. IMO it's nice to know if a youngster or an older builder like myself has posted a build here. And I guess with time and getting to know more members will help to be more familiar.

And just want to say how much I enjoy this forum and hobby..!

The Blown Ranger AKA Street Fighter ll

Hi everyone...

More old stuff...This is Revell's 1999 issue.. I lowered the rear suspension, used the wheels from AMT's Studebaker Avanti kit, parts box tires, Shabo dry transfer white letters on the rear tires, hand painted the fronts. I used the engine from Revell's '70 Chevelle 454..cause I thought the engine that came in the kit looked too small... Flocked the interior, fabricated a on the dash tach from a distributor.  White automotive touch up paint from a rattle can. Hand masked flame graphics done with auto paint as well, de-canted and sprayed through an airbrush.

'32 Ford 3 window

Hi Everyone..

Here is another one of my older builds ... '03 or so. When I found out that you could use finger nail polish, to spray models. I Got out this '32 and mixed a red with a bright orange with metallic gold in it. After I sprayed the color, I let the metallic gold settle to the bottom and separated it from the orange finger nail polish. and added it to some de-canted Tamiya clear, and shot a few good coats of the clear.

Built mostly box stock, except for the exhaust,(from the Revell parts pack Ford 427 chrome engine)  tires and wheels(from AMT '39 Wagonrod kit) and scratch built fuzzy dice.

2001 Corvette Z06 built in '05

Hello everyone,

This is a Revell kit, built box stock...I saw this paint scheme on a subscription card for a 1:1 magazine. On a late model Camaro. Thought it would be fun to try on a scale model.

Hand masked graphics sprayed with de-canted Tamiya rattle can paint, through an airbrush.

Hand lettered detail  : engine, tires, under hood logo.
