RodBurNeR
This is a clone, see the link to see what kit I started with to get the Beetle done. It's been a fun little road! It's not perfect and I knew it wouldn't be, but I wanted to put this truck on my shelf for a long time! I built it to look as much like the box art as possible and never had a single original part to start with. I want to thank Dave Fletcher for the kit to start with (Early Iron Issue) , Craig Turner for the Replicas and Miniatures Scuba gear and Dave Neighbors for the front rims. I also want to thank everyone who has helped me with hints or ideas along the way. Please see the link to see what was done, the photos are from "newest" to oldest. http://public.fotki.com/drasticplasticsmcc...-models/fomoco/ Edited June 25, 2009 by awbcrazy
Bernard Kron
Well Bob, you could certainly fool me. I keep bouncing back and forth between the completed model and the box art and they look darn near identical to these eyes! Great, clean, meticulous build. Not just 'cause it's a superb box art replica but 'cause it's got plenty of character as a neat little rod. Two thumbs up!

Guest
Sweet! What is the color? Is that the same kit as Revell's current 29 Ford ratrod kit?
RatRod
Excellent reproduction Bob!!! You hit the nail on the head with that one!!!
RodBurNeR
Thanks everyone! To answer a couple questions.... The paint is GM Engine Blue by Dupli Color. In person it's very very close to the color the "old" kit was molded in. I used this kit to start with and had to find a bunch of the "right" parts from various other kits and friends.
