Foxer
is that part of a wire nut that you used for the air filter? was going to say the same thing! This is sure looking good!
BKcustoms
Thanks Mike and Jason!, the engine bay is completely scratchbuilt from. .040 sheet styrene. Using the second hood would've probably worked better though since the styrene doesn't hold bends very well.
vintagedragfan
nice progress Billy, the old Nason lays down nice huh?
JasonFL
Thanks Mike and Jason!, the engine bay is completely scratchbuilt from. .040 sheet styrene. Using the second hood would've probably worked better though since the styrene doesn't hold bends very well. Really? I thought for sure you used the other hood. The curves look BLAH_BLAH_BLAH_BLAH near perfect, real nice job. I dont have extra styrene but I think I'm gonna have to try using the hood curves to achieve that look. Also real like how you made that smooth firewall and attached everything to the body. Lookin good billy

BKcustoms
Thanks guys! I've got the functional front suspension done and I'm working on a setup to make the rear suspension functional and still look like airbags. I'll post pics tonight once I have it figured out completely.
BKcustoms
Front suspension is together now and working properly. thanks for looking! I've got about a month to finish this, hopefully I can do it. Billy

dino246gt
That's crazy cool and a huge undertaking, great stuff! Personally I think tan interior is more modern than grey, just my thoughts.
BKcustoms
Thanks Albie and Dennis! a tan interior is a good idea, I was originally thinking black because the car was going to be silver but I think the tan will go better with the light blue I'm using now. JasonFL
The front suspension came out great, very nice job. Just curious but I was wondering what kind of pins you used and if you had any photos of them?
BKcustoms
Thanks Richard and Jason, here's the pins I used. I just drilled out the kit suspension to fit them and used pen springs for the coil springs. http://www.dirtmodeler.com/store/index.php?route=product/product&path=79&product_id=

BKcustoms
Thanks for the compliments guys, I really appreciate it! This past weekend was paint time. The color is a custom candy blue pearl over Kustom Shop "Speed Blue" urethane with Nason clear. I decided to repaint the floor since there were a few bad spots in the black. The color is really a lot lighter than the pics show. Thanks for following along! I'll have this one wrapped up soon. Billy

crazyjim
Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. SHINY :) SHINY :) SHINY :) . I love it. What's up with the pins? Are they different from plain old pins? I'm looking for the pins that come om some new shirts - there's kind of a ball on the top. I think they might work pretty good for dash knobs.
