That is cool and a flashback to the first gas station I worked at! A TEXICO!!! B)

They had a 52 for a wrecker. The boom mounted in the factory truck bed!

Same old green and black fenders. (but a whole lot rustier  ) The only thing really different was the grill was painted off white!

You did a really nice job. What did you use for the pickup bed?

I painted the bed boards first with Testors yellow enamel then dry brushed it with Testors brown. I made two attempts with bare metal foil then decided I liked the silver strips better. I assume that answers your question, unless you are just wanting to know where the bed came from, if that's the case it was the stock bed.

Thanks again! I need some ideas of items to put in the bed for road service if anyone has some, please leave comments. ;)

Great job on this model. I'd say to throw in maybe a couple of gas cans, oil cans, a tool box, a tire iron, a floor jack and maybe a couple of used wheels & tires. You don't have to add all of that stuff, but I personally like a lot of detailed items.

Very nice, I love working trucks. The seats, the weathering, the wood; all very cool, but what got my attention was the hose clamps. Superb, period correct, detail. What gauge wire did you use for them?

I used 26 gauge bead wire on the clamps, wrapped it around a toothpick and cut it to size. I'm surprised you noticed it with the poor quality of the close ups.DSC03806.jpg
