Peter Lombardo
That is such a neat car. There were very few real ones ever made. Fiberglass body and pocket sliding doors, very cool. The sad part is that it was very underpowered with something like an 80 horsepower Willys jeep engine, it was billed as a Corvette "style" sports roadster, but it couldn't keep up with a Sprite or a Midget. Anyway, very nice and the color is very nice too.
charlie8575
I've wanted to get one of these for a very, very long time. The kit and the real thing! Two quick questions: 1. Where'd you find the wheels? 2. I know R&R can be a bit hit-or-miss; your thoughts on this particular kit? Very nice build by the way. dimaxion
I don't remember the cost . I acauired this from Ray at a Toledo Show I used to attend . The wires I acquired in a trade this year . They actually look like the fake covers available on these 1:1 . Real wires could be had also . I just landed these this year in a trade and it was the final missing piece to complete . The cleanup was minimal . Fabricated a Promo type chassis . I believe Steve (Kohler) sells the kit with chassis . The tailights are Testors Stop Light Red . This is one of my favorites . I think it (1:1) had a wild and crazy 90 HP supercharged inline Flathead 6 . The parts for this were taken from the production Henry J . Allot like the Chevette and Fiero . I did like the relative ease to finish it . Thanx..
Sixties Sam
Nice build of a rare car, whether real or model! The father of a guy who works where I do has a real K-D roadster in a light mint green color with a matching top and interior. It's a beauty! Here's a photo of it at a local show in 2008.
