Continuing to plug away on this. I fitted the kit bumper mounts to the new rear section. I'll be doing some sheet styrene work on it to make a fuel cell. The top side of the fuel will be under a false floor, I'm unsure if I want hinge it so details can be seen or just leave it solid.

Some great work going on with this build mate.

I managed to accomplish a little work in the cage. Making it real tight inside the body has actually been pretty easy. I used brass for the hoop, and aluminum for the rest. From the sides and back you cannot see it, with the tinted windows it should virtually disappear.

That's the ticket man. Lovely.

Thanks Dale and Rob.

I have today off so I'm sittin at my bench. I got the rear suspension close. I had to narrow the rear end and shave the hubs on the Pegasus rims. After I narrowed the rear end I drilled the axle and put axle pins in to help indicate everything.

In a flurry of tiny pieces and PVA glue i've been mocking up a Prowler chassis to stuff under the Citation.

And i've hit a snag - my chosen wheels are too small to fit over the suspension uprights.

This has meant a dive into the parts boxes labelled 'wheels', 'special wheels' and 'more special wheels' and i've found some largish chrome 5 spoke rims with medium profile tyres. They have solid chrome backs and feel like Revell.

I shall be painting the rims black and attaching hub caps with cable ties in an attempt to make them look boring.

I have also started work on lengthening the nose to fit the wheelbase.

I hear you Fred. Here is what I wound up doing. I used the wheel backs for those same wheels. In the end the exposed rim looks like a whitewall, so I left it white.

Anybody see a rollcage in there? I sure can't. I've been thinking whether I should just make it a 10 point cage by adding the greenhouse bars in the front. What do you guys think? Also, should I add a crossbar between the two down bars in the rear? It looks kind of goofy but I'm not sure if it would be realistic in the 1:1 world, I can't use anything I have at home for reference as our race cars have very skinny frame rails in the rear due to the wheel tubs rather than pretty wide rails on a stock chassis. Let me know what you're thinking...

Here's where I'm at now, time to call it a night. I did the best I could to hide the bars behind the a pillars, so the only way they're visable is through the front windshield, which even then it's difficult to see. Nothing's glued in yet, but I think I'll go ahead and finish it since it does look pretty good if I don't say so myself. Of course I'm open to your guys opinions, so let me know!

I am jumping in really late, but my attempt will involve converting this odd looking car:

Ecto_zpst5vn6bf4.jpg

Into a sleeper. I plan on doing the work to convert it into a nondescript hearse. I will be using the suspension from an Enzo Ferrari to improve the handling. Of course you need something decent to move that much weight around so I will either be using the Enzo engine or going overkill with an Allison V-12. I am just waiting for the V-12 to arrive to see which one will work out better. Decisions on the interior will come after I figure out which engine I am going with.

Don't forget about leaving room for the glass Dragfreak

Yeah, Make sure your glass fits with the roll cage. That was a issue I ran into with the Stude and I'll be sweating with the Pacer.

Welcome Kieth. We get guys joining all the way into late summer and fall, so you are plenty early enough.

Well I have decide to change my project from the F-150 to the vary well know revell 57 ford custom. It will be in primer gray with tarnished silver moldings.

And while the stock engine is vary well detailed but I will be using the 429 super cobra jet engine from the revell '70 ford torino GT. With a little sanding done to the oil pan and the frame cross member the engine drops right in.

And just to show how much room this engine bay has

comments, suggestions and criticism are all welcome.

Let Wagonmaster know so that he can change his list on the first post.

As for the engine fit - why am I NEVER that lucky? <_<

Thanks for the welcome. It's good that I am early then since I have already hit my first decent roadblock. I had traced out the chassis for the Enzo and the Ecto to see how well they would work together and I was surprised how similar they were except for the length. Then I realized this morning that I had been looking at the Enzo tracing backwards.

I think that I can still make it work. Just more cutting and filling.

Hi guys, is there any chance to get in with my Beverly Hills Cop Nova. :-) Thanks

In past runs we had a rule that you had to enter with a model less than 25% completed. However, Tim did not state anything like that in the rules, so I guess it's up to him. I am enjoying that Nova build though.

I got some goodies in from modelhaus, some steelies which I may use, and a flat hood since the tear drop hood wasnt going to cut it. The wheels I'm extremely happy with, the hood not so much. It was too wide which required a lot of sanding to fit, and the driver side corner seems to be warped. It's not like I can pass it off as a fiber glass good that fits bad. It's supposed to represent a stock steel hood. I suppose I'll have to get a bowl of warm water and see if I can polish a turd. This is the second bad experience with resin hoods from two separate casters. It makes me wonder, is there a caster who makes a hood that fits like it came out of a new kit? If so, who does..

Anyhow, what's your opinion on the new wheels? they're pretty deep while the old ones I was going to use arent.
