Chuck Most
could the axle and suspension from the chevy "mad mudder" pick up go on the the 92 ford pick up? rich Could be done with a little tinkering- in fact I think I tried it a few years back on a project I ended up abandoning for no good reason. Though if I recall, the front diff is on the opposite side of where a Ford front diff would be (could be wrong there).

No you are right, the Ford diff is on the driver's side where a Chevy is on the passenger side.
richcrabman
But the parts can be used thoe?.....with a little tinkering? Or would parts from a Bigfoot monster truck be more suited? I'm not that clued up much on 4x4s so any info is all helpful. Sorry to nick your thread Rodney. Rich

Chuck Most
Flip the Chevy axle over so the diff's on the proper side, and boom... instant high-pinion front axle!

Chuck Most
Thinking of trying this out with a Ranger Splash I'd originally planned to build as a pro streeter!
RodneyBad
Thinking of trying this out with a Ranger Splash I'd originally planned to build as a pro streeter! It would look Great either way. I've had some paint issues and had to strip the bed. Ugh..

cherokeered
Finally got the rear suspension done. Nothing really major. Made 6"inch lift blocks, 4 u-bolts and 8 nuts Keep it all straight was the fun part and grabbing the wrong SuperGlue. SuperThin Super Glue is not a Drip on from the bottle type of Glue It's a Run all over the place glue. BTW: This is not how you should lift a 1:1 truck 6"inches. Final ride height with out anything but suspension holding it up and level What did you use for the U-Bolts?? Also what size styrene is needed for the blocks?....Thanks! RodneyBad
What did you use for the U-Bolts?? Also what size styrene is needed for the blocks?....Thanks! One is part of a small paperclip and the other 3 are part of a pushpin bent into a U shape with a Evergreen Plastic Hex Rod drilled out to fit the wire. The block is 1/8" X 1/4"inch Evergreen strip. I did square it up a bit better after pic.. THanks.. Edited July 22, 2011 by RodneyBad
