Wonderbread Kustomz
I got this at Hobby Lobby last week with the 40 off coupon... I remember back when I was a kid (early 80s) Rich's department stores had an appliance liquidation store in Atlanta and they used these trucks to deliver.... So I wanted to build something similar to that, not an exact replica.... I have started the weathering process on it. And i will be throwing a scratchbuilt washer, dryer, and fridge in the back. So enough rambling, here are a few pics of what Ive done so far....

imatt88
Sweet! Did the Pepsi reisssue come with a chrome tree? Cheers, Ian
Wonderbread Kustomz
thanks guys... Ian, yes it did come with chrome.... I just wanna know what the duece is up with the chrome from AMT? I always strip chrome with either Easy Off or bleach which literally strips in a matter of minutes, but for some reason with some AMT kits, Ive had to leave it soaking overnight and I still have some spots of chrome left... smh.... imatt88
Cool, Love the weathering! this baby is going to look the part. I use Easy Off as well to strip paint and chrome and I almost never have trouble, but, like you, I have run into issues with Round 2 chrome trees. I think it might be the coating they put on the parts before chroming. Just have to leave it soak longer... Cheers, Ian
Wonderbread Kustomz
Thanks.... I was thinking the same thing Ian....
Repstock
It may be too late, but this often overlooked detail really helps the look of the C series. I don't know why it wasn't molded on in the first place...
Wonderbread Kustomz
I didnt even pay any attention to that area... Good heads up because now I know and this will help with my next build.. right click save.... thanks
Chuck Most
Love how this looks so far! Yeah- Round 2 chrome can be a real pain to strip compared to other kitmaker's chrome plating and undercoat.

I finally have a rolling chassis, and the front bumper has been painted, gonna grime it a little bit...

gotnitro?
Love the weathering! What materials did you use for it? I usually use AK products on my armor builds
Wonderbread Kustomz
I used rustoleum red oxide primer, salt, and Krylon pistachio, after it dried, I scrubbed the salt with water and a toothbrush, and then used a cosmetic sponge and a light light light amount of acrylics to add the grime...
