It's about that time

Recommended Posts

Well guys, I know I havent been posting on here much lately. I have been watching and voting on RoM but not posting. Its getting about that time to clear out that space in the garage where my model stuff is before I leave in september. It will be packed up and my desk taken down and maybe put in storage until I get back. I have gotten some great items from alot of people on here and I thank you for having patience with me and my finances to get the stuff out.

This is not a good-bye, this is just an update. I will still be here trying to post.

Thanks,

Yep going over there, and not the "safe" place either.

Clay,

If you can, please try to post in here from wherever you are. Be safe!! And thank you for your service.

If we have internet and if the network will let me get on here I will definitely do that. Now building probably wont happen because we wont have our own living areas.

Just be safe and hurry back so you can continue to wow us with your builds.

There's a song on 'Shades of Two Worlds' by the Allman Brothers that deals with the Gulf War, but the events of the last few years have allowed it to remain relevant-

Desert Blues

Can't get no this,

and I can't get no that,

can't get no you know,

I don't even know where it's at.

Ain't got the smoke and there ain't no booze,

Got them low down dried out desert blues, yes I do.

Uncle George calling said I had to go,

just what he wanted I did not know,

I'm over here dug in so far from home,

lookin' all around try and see what's going on.

I got the sand in my collar,

Got the sand in my hair,

Got it in my pockets,

Got it everywhere.

I got sand in my shirt,

Got it in my shoes,

Got them low down dried out desert blues, yes I do, how how how.

Joined up in the army

Work was hard to find,

End up over here, got my young ass on the line,

but I'll be right here until my work is done,

if I get back home I hope I never see no more guns.

Here across the ocean,

I left some of my good friends behind,

I hope somebody's thinking about me,

especially that sweet little woman of mine.

Can't get no this,

and I can't get no that,

can't get no you know,

I don't even know where it's at.

Sand in my collar,

got the sand in my hair,

got it in my pockets,

got it everywhere.

I got sand in my shirt,

got it in my shoes,

got them low down dried out desert blues,

yes I do.

From the sound of it, we will have internet there, maybe even wireless. Maybe Ani will let me take the laptop (hint hint). No room for model building though.

Thank you guys for your support. I will keep you guys updated on everything. Or at least try to.

Be safe Clay! We'll keep you in our prayers.

And by the sounds of things, you better not take that new laptop!....

Ever thing I was going to say has been said. We'll pray for the Marine Wife too. It ain't easy being separated from your loved one and wondering if they're safe.

Hey guys, just an update. I have been across this country 3 times in the past 3 weeks, about to head home tomorrow. In San Deigo right now checking out some equipment that we are taking over there, was in Yuma Az week before last doing the same thing. I have roughly over a month before its time to go. I will try to squeeze out a couple cars but it is highly doubtful. As it looks right now I will have internet but we will be so busy preparing the site I wont have time to get on for a few months.

Thanks for your service to America. Our prayers will also be with Marine Wife back home. Her's is a tough job too.
