MCM Ohana (6/6)

  1. I'll be there with a vendor table Look for an "old guy" with a gray (matches my hair) Freeport Stadium t shirt
  2. Great model I remember seeing him run at Freeport and Islip Speedways in the mid 70's when he and Evans, Bodine & other North East drivers would show up for the extra distance points races.
  3. The CKM has a date change to 8/12/23. Location remains the same
  4. Lots of little details such as the length of the window crank shafts, the sheet metal covers on the front & rear bumpers & the mesh on the LF headlight for the oil cooler.
  5. Some pics for you NASCAR builders of the Holman Moody Bondy Long 68 Daytona 500 Torino driven by Bobby Allison. Here are the exterior pictures
  6. I'll have to ask the local folks about it. I moved to NC in '93 but didn't get back into commercial slot racing until around '05.
  7. I travel roughly 100 miles roundtrip to the track I race at in Archdale,NC. As I see it there are not too many young kids interested in slot cars. There is one youngster of about 13 years old that races occasionally. Next youngest is about in his middle 30"s. The majority of the regulars are 55+ with the majority of the "old timers" being in their mid to late 60's I'm one of them at 69!
  8. Thanks. Handled well but a tick off speed wise compared to some of the other cars. Motor is new, think it needs more run time before it reaches its full potential.
  9. Just finished this up, first race for it is today at Archdale Slot Car Raceway in Archdale, NC. Just need to add the lexan interior when I get to the track. This is a spec class with an H&R chassis, 18,000 rpm motor, either Pro Track or H&R tires. 9/31 gears & 185 gram minimum total weight. Body started out as a $5.00 Glue bomb. Paint is Model Master Tropical Turquoise, Plastic Performance Products wide 5's and decals from my stash.
  10. 60 Ford PU is definitely on my to buy list when they come out. At least 3 or more for me. My wish list would be complete if they were able to find the tooling or clone the 62 Ford Galaxie along with either the 67 or 68 Galaxie's.
  11. Same here !
  12. My haul from yesterday at the MDA model show/swap in Roanoke VA. SC/Rambler was missing the body, glass etc but had 98% of the parts with a partially assembled engine & chassis. Most likely going to list the parts (less the box)on the trade forum. Parts would be perfect for someone restoring one. Also got 3 full sets of 5 wheel covers from the original issue AMT 34 Ford PU
