  1. 3D printing has really opened up the possibilities in the larger scales. There’s several companies that print some pretty sweet large scale parts and bodies.
  2. Started with Lindbergs Exterminator chassis, body from Custom 3D Creations, engine from Texas 3D. Decals were custom made by STS decals.
  3. Progress…finally got a paint job I like, Testors pearl white over Inca gold. With the graphics shown. STS is making the decals as shown. Engine is glued in. Front axle got new steering gear, and the wheels are mounted. Driver’s compartment is done except seatbelts. I also made a little Idol mascot to match the decals.
  4. Progress on the build. Re- Painted using Testors extreme laquer, although I’m not sure I’m going to keep this paint, I’m on e the fence as to whether I like it or not. I ditched the kit engine and bought an early Hemi from Texas 3D and started on it.
  5. I agree with everything said above … I don’t think oven cleaner is the necessarily the best at all, but I use it because it’s convenient for me to buy. I have had success with super clean etc, but I can get oven cleaner at the grocery store 😀
  6. Easy off oven cleaner has worked for me. Sometimes it takes multiple applications and some scrubbing with a tooth brush but eventually the undercoats some off
  7. Got some paint on it today, Tamiya white and metallic black, ordered custom decals for it.
  8. Made a little progress. Rear axle was relocated toward the rear to match the body, the motor mounts had to be redone to raise the engine, made an intake scoop, lowered the front end about 3/4 of an inch. Body mounts are next and I need to hide some weight inside the engine to hold the front wheels down.
  9. First shot of primer this evening. I ended up enlarging the hole in the roof. Wheels are a combination of kit outer chrome rim and centers from 3D Scale parts. Primer revealed a couple small imperfections.
  10. Yes it is the chassis from the exterminator
  11. Cut out the wheel openings…I’m happy with it so far.
  12. So I started this 1/8 Lindberg dragster and decided to go comp coupe. I don’t build a lot of drag cars but I thought I’d give this a try. I picked up an early hemi conversion kit from eBay and bought this T body from face book. The body needed the wheel openings relocated so I’m working on that and the upper frame rails needed to be lowered to clear the new heads. More to come
