  1. A fine piece of Kremlinoid teknology, not for to be mistaken as a GAZ, ZAZ, or ZIS. Zis be very confusing, no?
  2. Wow. That has got to be one of the best builds of that I've seen. This is my all-time favorite kit. Great job!
  3. I'm so sorry to hear this......though, you have turned adversity into something very positive. I was in ICU for 10 days after a car accident a couple of years ago, and that isnt anyone's idea of fun. I cant imagine how tough that must have been to be in the hospital for so long and then come home to your models having been destroyed. It makes my story seem inconsequential. I had filed for divorce and the soon to be ex-wife was really p*$$#@. I changed the locks, but she got in anyhow. I came home to find that she had carefully laid out all my finished models, about 40 of them, and had jumped up and down on them smashing them to pieces. Some were in so many pieces that they couldnt be fixed. Others, like a 55 Chevy that had won a contest, was only smashed enough to need a new body and windows. I kept most of them, and theyre still in my closet, but it turned me off modeling for 20 years. You should be proud of what you have accomplished, and for not giving up. Good job! And why is it that certain women don't like our hobbies?
  4. think its a restoration not a replica...well, Nick? Manchester built it but I cant seem to tell if it is a restoration or what.
  5. mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm....how about a Melchester Racing heritage Sebring Sprite replica??
  6. Lancia Martini LC 2, designed in 1982 and debuted in late season 1983.
  7. I got mine today at Hobbytown-a no sales tax day, plus I had a $5 discount coupon, made it $12 out the door. IWhat a deal. It's a great kit, just as I remebered the original but with clear, blue, or red tinted windows, a great decal sheet, a very nice box, a little mini-box inside, and an AMT sticker. If this is any indication of the future Round 2 releases, they've certainly done a good job!
  8. Nope. Knew it was a Bradley so I googled "Bradley GT" and this car was one of the first hits.
  9. Its a Bradley GTII, but not the usual VW engine based car, this one is an Electric vehjicle, one of 50 made in 1980
  10. I did a whole lot of slot car racing in the Bay Area during the time you worked at Lancer, and used their bodies for a lot of the USRA stuff.....imagine running into you on this forum all these years later. I bet that master could bring a small fortune. What designs were you responsible for? Oh, and great work, too!
  11. Mmmmmmm..could be a 1977 VW Scirocco 2.0 16 V
  12. My dad had one of these...re with white vinyl top, white interior, whites and wires. Kept joking with him that he needed a felt brim to go with it. He didnt know what "pimpin" meant It was kinda pretty in all of it's excess, though.
  13. I've been building since 1962, though I slowed down as I got into my early twenties. In 1988 I was going thru a messy divorce, the soon-to-be ex-wife got into my house, carefully laid out my models in pile on the floor and stomped on all of them--some dating way back to the sixties. It was horrible, and it is a true story. It upset me so much that I quit the hobby until finding models on ebay, then remembering my LHS and Michaels, and online mags and forums. a couple of years ago. So I guess it was mostly due to the internet and Model Cars Mag.

  15. I spent most of my youth with my nose buried in Car&Driver, Road&Track, etc. so i've usually got a bit of an idea as to where to start However, you guys give some great clues. It took me a LOOOONG time to get the GT70--all I knew was that I remembered the shape. That steam car thingy, well, I needed that Jay Leno clue to get it. And I've got way to much time on my hands.......LOL Now this Porsche will be more difficult!
  16. That steam car and the GT 70 were pretty hard..I gave up several times.
  17. That gave it away! 1925 Doble type E Steam car
  18. A 1911 Oldsmobile limited Touring Car. I never would have guessed that red one was anything later thatn 1903-ish.
