  1. Every time you do one of these, I think its too bad the model companies arent doing as good a job as you are. You always have better ideas than they do! Great jpb.
  2. Dont those show-car type guys do all sorts of interesting things to make those 1:1's look a lot like models? I helped a friend prep a car for the Oakland roadster Show once, and he had all sorts of funny little tricks to make it appear perfect. Even down to aligning all the bolt heads, incuding the lug nuts. Ya never know!
  3. I thinks its absloutlely positively reeeeeeeeel! So what if the L and R tires dont match. Mebbe its s'posed to be like that.............
  4. Fantastic, Bob. This is just "so right". I love it!
  5. I can just see this........"Ashley Pastel" wins the the 2020 Hello Kitty NAFCAR ( national assciation for furrin' car auto racing ) championship in her Pokemon-Pikachu sponsored Brillance Zhonghu. So, how many ways does this suck? Yikes!
  6. Cool! Sure beats all the Bantams and Tees out there. Did you scratch-build that body?
  7. Another great use of your imagination. I like it! So, how many 1:1's do you have?
  8. Way too cool. You've got a great imagination!
  9. Clean job. What a beautiful color! This is nice!
  10. I used it over Tamiya White fine surface primer with no trouble whatsoever. It went down smoothly, and over the white primer coverage was no problem. However, it does seem a bit translucent, and I think it would not cover very well over colors other than white. Good luck!
  11. It was 17.99 at mine yesterday, as were most of the snap kits. The new T-bolt, Mustangs, and others were $23, Aoshima Toyota pickup $35, Model masters botlte paints 5.39. Yikes, this is nuts. The selection thay have is lousy and nothing inspired me. The prices are bad enough, but the selection is completeluy overwhelmingly Boring. Same stuff year after year. Overheard a customer complaining to the manager, and his response was that "corporate" makes the selections for the store, not him. Well, guess I shouldnt complain. At least I have a LHS in my town. Could be worse!
  12. I think I like the Uncertain T in green, its different. And your Barber shop rod is great! You really captured the look of the original. Too cool!
  13. This has got to be one of the most ridiculous ideas I've yet heard, and I've heard a lot from those politicians. Perhaps they should impose a wash and wax law, too. Everybody has to wash and wax their car each Sunday, becuase we all know that a shiny, slippery vehicle moves thru the air better and will give one gazillionth better mpg. Our founding forefathers would probably tar and feather these guys. Perhpas the most astounding thing about this is that some people must think this is a good idea. geeeeezzz..............
  14. This is pretty scary. When I was about 14, I built models in my Dad's shop, an 8x10 windowless room off of the basement. My dad, being the crafty inventor type he was, didnt like me inhaling laquer thinner fumes when I airbrushed, and set about making a solution. He built a beautiful wood paint booth, floor to cieling with storage for paint on the bottom( usually a couple of gallons of Laquer thiner) , and.........a cheap overhead light and 1940's electric table fan to pull out the overspray and fumes. Sometimes the fumes were so thick you could see them! How in the world I never blew up I have no idea. Yikes!
  15. Wonderful job! You sure did get it right. I, too, loved the Can Am at Laguna Seca, and it is (was) my favorite racing series. So, did you make the mold or did it start out as a slot car body? Either way, it looks great.
  16. This is for the "older" guys ! Heres a couple of "hairy" 80's fav's. These vid's are so corny there cool. First we have the fantastic WASP And now presenting Cinderella http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w_xUDFMv94s
  17. Wow this is really nice. Great job on the interior..I epecially like the chassis. Loos real good!
  18. I built this in 1985, so she's going to be 24 this year. Just a simple l'il sedan, lowered a lot with split 'bones, steeleis, and dual exhaust. Flathead with Latham blower and 4 carbs, wired with sewing thread. Testor's basic Orange spray bomb paint done at night in a cold garage. camne out pretty nice and has aged well. Nothing special in the interior except a body colored dash. She is the only one to still survive intact from my old collection.
  19. Thanks. That FED is my 2nd favorite fueler, the Astro Enterprises AA/FD. My favorite is the Smirnoff AA/FD. Google astro aa/fd or magicar, also smirnoff fed dragster. They sure dont make 'em like that anymore!
  20. Thanks, Guys! Thses were the first few pics that I took with my digital camera. I've nver had one before, so I am having a bit of a learning curve. It has given me great respect for many of the photos posted here.
  21. Absoloutely beautiful. I love that color with the stripes! Think I'm gonna have to figure out something to use this combination on.
  22. I finally have gotten myself a camera! So I proudly present one of my creations for your viewing pleasure
  23. I wanted to offer a bit of support. I, too, am disabled and deal with chronic pain each day. For me, cranky would be a good thing as I can sometimes be evil I know I can say or do things that are just totally out of character for me, but my challenge is not to simply identify this, its also to admit my faults. ThenI can change. I admire your courage to share very personal things with us on this forum. Hang in there! Hopefullly our pain will ease and we both can get onto better things in life-like building some models!
