  6. My new job has me doing alot of traveling. This week I found myself in St. Joseph MO. I got some time to meet up with Dwayne Bressem and his wife Sandy. They were very gracious host. I had a great time visiting them. This was a very busy week for Dwayne for he was in the final preperation stages for his first model NNL contest as a promoter. What an incredible job he did of pulling it off. He is truly a one man band. I meet a lot of new friends and saw some pretty cool models. Of course I dropped a few dollars at the swap meet but I'll keep my marriage intact and deny any such thing. I've uploaded photos from the show. I was using a camera that I was really familiar with nad the macro focus was as good as I hopped. In any event, I hope you enjoy. If you recognize any of the models please feel free to leave a comment as to who the builder is. http://public.fotki.com/VincePutt/model-ca...seph-mo-pony-e/ Vince
  7. Looking good there Lyle, Art form brought foward into another art form. How fast can you build a 1:1 of the real thing Can't wait to see it at the next Meeting. Vince
  8. I just started a new career. I'll be traveling around the country. I'd like to find out where different clubs are and where they meet. Maybe I can drop in and meet some new friends and find some new ones.
  9. Billy to help with you street engine that's pretty easy. You are looking at 2 carbs and ignition wiring as any other street engine of that vintage. IIRC that kit use eldelbrock carbs you cab check there website and see the carbs for locations of the fuel lines a fuek regulator is also used. A top fuel motor of that vintage can be very intimidating to do it right. Check this site for some detail photos. http://public.fotki.com/VincePutt/drag_rac...-putt-original/ Fuel engines are constantly changing much like nascar. fuel injection, blower positions, and fuel pumpsa are things that may change race to race. If you are serious you will probably scratchbuild about 300 fittings for a scale top fuel engine. Fave fun. Vince
  10. Beautiful paint, great build, The poverty caps aren't fooling anyone Time to take the camaro home
  11. My local wally World has been going through a remodeling. Model area was expanded I recently picked up the Merc and L700. Funny only place I heard such a rumour was on a now out of business Model car dealers message board. Take it with a grain of salt
  12. Thanks I happen to drive by a Target and stopped by I picked them up not bad deal. I think I can handle the assembly work for a big saving.
  13. Thanks guys for the responses. Jairus recommended the 65 and steve the 66. I forgot that both a 65 and a 66 were availble. Both are out of production as far as I know but are more than likely still optainable. are they the same engine wise ? I'm not a buick expert by anymeans but I think the look I'm going for is a tripower or dual quad with some aluminum valve covers that say buick on the side with raised letters. I'm thinking I saw this in scale but then again I have weird plastic dreams. It's Jairus's sketch pad Merc in the July 2007 model cars that has me pumped.
  14. That's an incredible price. What ones did they have ? are they going to stock the entire line ? Can you get the SKU # I'll see if I can get my local target to order some.
  15. Irv don't you know your gonna go broke drag racing! Better get some sponshorship. Hope to see ya soon.
  16. Thanks I was thinking the riv or maybe the 62 Electra, The as far as I know the riv is out in a couple of differnt boxes is the ngine the same in all the versions? anybody have any pics to share?
  17. Looking for a well detailed Buick nailhead motor to swap into a project. prefer with some mild hop up parts and chrome parts but all-clad would do in a pinch. motor would go in the new Revel Merc.
  18. It was a great show I didn't relly spend much more tme there other than looking at the big trucks. I found myself really beat from the heat. It was a tough week at work. I wandered around the swap meet awile, found some 1:1 parts for my project. IT was the first time I saw a Bighorn Dodge in real life. That name really fits. Did you notice that there was some empty space inside the building It would be interesting if we could hook up with the promotors and have a model truck display next year. Come visit the PSAB chat. http://client.sigmachat.com/sc.php?id=12510 I live just off IH-81 maybe next year we can hook up before the show on your way down. I bet you missed roadside America during your visit too. I'd like to see the pictures you took. Vince
  19. Went to the All truck Nationals at Carlisle yesterday. Show was bigger and better than ever http://public.fotki.com/VincePutt/semi_tru...sle-all-truck-/ Hope you enjoy the photos Vince
  20. Revell's 57 Nomad is the only one that I've seen that IMHO looks good. It's a old kit OOP. It has the opening doors and tailgate. Not the easyist kit to build because of all the working features. It originally came out in '68 and was reissued many times. I can't comment on the SAE resin. But the 1/24 monogram is not what you want. Vince
  21. Thanks Ken, the more I look at this the more. I wish I had some fireworks left over. No Hobby Lobby in these parts. I'll take a cruise over to Fantastic Plastic this week and pick up a a Testors kit, I just might have to look and see if a Viper kit is available too. Is the Testors Charger full detail ? Vince
