That is very cool! I like it, however I think I'd rip the engine and trans out of it and put it up on cement blocks, use it for a dioroma on a new york neighborhood

Nothing up there. CPMCC in York is about the closest. We started a few years ago to put something together in Scranton/Wilkes Barrie area but we couldn't pull it off. Vince Putt -
1970 L-1000 Dodge cabover
Bowtienutz replied to bitner's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
Incredible your Ford cabover blew me away. But This is over the top, To bad that truck kit was never released in the 70's. From looking over your photo site I've come to some conclusions 1. Your an old Model designer from AMT and wandered off with plans. 2. Your a kind of a missing link of truck modelers. 3. Something is in your water supply and I want some. Please please think about getting this cast. Vince -
Great News Bob, Missed ya in PSAB Chat. Take care see ya soon. Vince

Karen and I will be there she'll be taking photos for Model Cars. I'll be hoping to get back to work soon to pay the bills for all the camera supplies she bought. Word of advice to all DON'T Ever tell your wife to take up a hobby unless it's model car building! She's turning into "High Maintenance" -
Gotta get my wisdom teeth removed.
Bowtienutz replied to Berk765's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Best of luck to you my friend. Somehow I've managed to live with mine with no problems even after 50 years. After my assult in JUne I figured the oral surgeon would remove them to make room for repair work that was to be needed in my upper jaw and sinus cavities. I had my first reconstructive surgury on tuesday of last week. They ended up puting 4 titanium plates in my upper jaw to reattach my jaw to my skull. My face is still the size of a football from the swelling I'm numb from the eyelids down. Nose is just an ornimante at this time next surgury they look into a rebuild job on it. better days are coming for both of us I'm sure. Vince Putt -
Gregg I was recently talking with a friend about an article that was in the magazine some time ago. If course I couldn't recall what issue. Can you update the site back issues of my favorite magazine, with the cover photo and a description of what was in that issue. Oh a shopping cart wouldn't be bad either. Vince Putt

My wife Karen came down to Georgia to pick me up. I'll be visiting the plastic surgeoun in the next few days after the swelling goes down. They can't operate till that happpens. Here's what happened. My crew and I travel around the country doing conversion work at TV stations for digital. We have a news van and a 16ft trailer that is our mobile shop. We were turning into a restraunt in Macon and we turned ito the wrong driveway. We ended in a medical center lot and there was no place to turn around the truck and trailer. I got out of the truck to guide my partner back while he backed the trailer into the highway. A dodge truck that was coming down the highway swerved at me at the last minute. I saw a guy get out out of the truck I thought he was going to help us. Next thing I knew I was stagering across the highway. I don't know what happened. Luckily for me there were two paramedics sitting in an ambulance in the driveway of the med center. As soon as they saw the hoodlums wailing on me they turned on the lights. They freaked and go back in the truck and speed off. The paramedics were with me by the time I made it to the curb. The police I meet at the hospital told me their has been reports the previous nights of a gang of 4 guys beating homeless people up at random. I guess I was in the wrong place at the wrong time. Anyway I have many facial injuries. Virtually ever bone on the right side of my face is broke and my total sinus cavity is collappased and shattered. Somehow I haven't lost any teeth but my entire right upper jaw is about an inch away from my left upper jaw. Funny I'm not in a lot of pain, maybe it's the morphine. When I try to talk the bones in my head sound like a bag of potatoe chips crumbling inside my head. Anyway I have to wait for a few days for the swelling to go down before I can see a plastic surgeon nad se what he can do for me. Thanks for the well wishes. Vince

Please forward this to anyone that may know JJ. Tough time for our friend. JJ was in Columbus Ohio for a Forest Service conference, had a bad fall and is now in the ICU at Grant Medical Center in Columbus. My wife & I came out here today from Va. and have seen him and his mother several times-frankly,it really doesn't look too promising for our friend. a blog for people to keep in touch about his condition and to write any messages they would like for him and his family to get. Even though he's unresponsive, we believe that reading messages and good wishes to him will make a difference. Here is the link to the blog: http://jjsmith1.blogspot.com/ Thanks, Dennis Cox

Hope you will have a look at the photos. http://public.fotki.com/VincePutt/model-ca...own-march-2008/ -

Vintage Drag Racing Classes
Bowtienutz replied to Harry P.'s topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Drag racing classes has always been about modifications and in today terms "power adders" as a rule of thumb a AA car would be blown or turboed an A car would be injected or carbed. In the MP Modified production classes alot of things went into consideration. cubic inch to weight ratio, Manufacturer rated horsepower, transmission type etc. Also be aware that AHRA NASCAR and NHRA plus 1/2 a dozen other sanctioning bodies all used their own designations. Thing to do do is brush up on class rules by reviewing old rule books if you really want to get anal about it . A Class a given car might run often changed race to race because of rule revisions or someone "Dumping the index" Making your "E/SA" E= Class SA= Stock Automatic run in F/SA by simply adding some weight or changing a carb or head casting #. Simple huh! If been thinking of scanning old rule books and posting them to my fotki site for reference. In the meantime grab a beverage and cruise my Fotki site http://public.fotki.com/VincePutt/drag_racing/ -
