  1. That is correct but should be clearified. The Dodge line up of performance cars were R/T for road and track and appeared in 67 first. Then in 68 started marketing there performance models as The Scat Pack. Plymouth just kept marketing the performance models seperatly then in 70 marketed them as The Rapid Transit System. But Plymouth did use letters that didn't mean anything. Fury GT, Fury S/23, GTX.
  2. Here is the one I got many years ago. I got the bumpers chromed and took the picture in 2007. I still have not built it yet. Did Scale Coachworks go out of buisness? I bought mine right from his sight but it is gone now. Also Bandit Resins 71 Scamp is real nice too. I did build that one in 2008.
  3. That is very nice indeed!! I picked up this kit recently and it is real nice.
  4. While I agree with everyone's responses and say, You must not hide anything from your wife! She is your chosen partner, You need to treat her as such. You did state yourself that you are working on your masters and saving for a house. I think you need to focus on that and get your career and household established. Those are two real big items for your life together. Then focus on your what to do on your spare time.
  5. Kevin is great. I have ordered a few things from him and he has allways worked with me. He is at the mercy of the casters thou. Currently I have an order for some kits from Historic Racing Miniatures that is 11 months old. Kevin has been answering all my emails in a few days time. He does not charge your credit card untill he gets the item in and ships it.
  6. Don't forget that the dash's are different. The street kit has the same dash pictured above with a glove box. The race kit has a different dash layout and no glove box.
  7. Nice job Ron. It looks great!! You can get the replacment parts from Modelhaus. Thay have the hood and chrome scoop insert that you need.
  8. Here is a small update. I was tipped off that the rollbar hit's the side glass on this model. So I tried to modify it and gave up. I decided it would be easier to scratch build a new one instead. Also you can see my resin cast seats in the backround.
  9. Here is one that I have been working on and off for a few years. This 1967 Camaro Pace Car was built from an AMT 67 Camaro Z/28. I had cut the roof off and used a grill and hood from Modelhaus. The engine and conv boot came from an AMT 69 Camaro donor. The front seats were reworked to make them more accurate. I used MCW paint in the correct Ermine White and Keith Marks decals. This was one of my most challenging builds that tested me every step of the way. Thanks for looking!!
  10. You have to experience bad taste to understand good taste!!!
  11. About four years ago I rebuilt a 72 doing the same chassis swap. It came out awesome. I'm looking foward to yours.
  12. I'm working on a pair of Johan 71 Cuda's. I'm not really interested in superdetailing them so I'm keeping all the Johan parts. As for the kit's it's funny but I bought one kit in the late 80's new at a local hobby store. I rode my bike to get a model and that is the one I picked up. I somehow lost one front rim and broke a rear rim back then. So Only the motor was painted and glued. About two years ago I picked up another built kit from a friend for $8. I wanted just the wheels and the rest was parts originaly. So I decided to strip the paint and see what shape this one was in. Now it's just as clean and restorable. I just needed some glass, the front suspension part and now wheels again. I got resin Modelhaus wheels and traded for the rest of the missing parts. So then I thought I would do one as a 70 and got the Reliable Resin kit to do it. Now for what I have done. Here is the interior and chassis after the restoration work I did. This is going under the 71. I have only done one chassis up to this point. When I stripped the 71 body it was real nice and molded in white. I thought that was great and better than the orange the other body is molded in. I also got a set of slixx decals for these. This is where I'm at with the 71 Cuda body. The body is primmed in white and I have some sink marks to fill in along with the scoop seam. I also pulled out my dremmin and hogged out the holes for the exhaust in the rear vallance. The restored car has this vallance and I like it. When I got the resin kit from Reliable Resin, I got to work. This is a lot more work than most conversion kit's I have used. Most kit's don't require cutting out sections of the body to use there stuff. Just modified peices that replace an item. With this kit you have to cut out the grill and rear vallance and fit in the new stuff. It took a few hours of work but it came out great. The hood was flat and the scoop was a seperate peice so I had to locate the hole and cut it. Then fit the scoop. Here is were I'm at now. I still have some body work to do and rework the front vallance to make it more like a 70 model.
  13. That is an old error that was not corrected. The real cars only had one bottle for the washer fluid. There was no radiator overflow bottle until 72.
  14. Wow, I didn't realize that this kits tooling is that old. I looked it up and it first issue was in 1964. I have built two of them so far. I did a molded in green one from 87 and an Elvira version. Both are long gone and I have another 87 issue to build.
  15. Wow nice builds and 53 of them!! That is one a week. I thought I was going fast with 1 a month.
  16. Does anyone make a resin body of Johan's 71 or 72 Javelin AMX? I recently got one of Johan's unbuilt Javelin AMX pro stock kits. I actually have two of them. Both with the yellow box art car with the 72 rearend. One kit has the 72 rear bumper and taillights but the body is 73/74 and was molded in orange. The other box has a complete 73/74 kit with the 73/74 style taillights and rear bumper. That one was also molded in red. So if someone casts the correct body with the T style roof and correct rear. I would like to buy it and make a 72.
  17. And I thought about using my leaf blower and a variable voltage switch attached to my gas pedal!! Good thing I passed that up and ordered my Cross Drilled BRAKE hoses to match my Cross Drilled Rotors!!
  18. I'm with most of you. I have never bought a case at one time. I have collected multiples over time either when I thought of projects for them or for donor's. I too have nine Revell 69 Camaro's unbuilt and three built. I have five AMT 71 Dusters untouched. One 71 Duster built and three that gave up chassis and engines for other mopars. I love mopar E bodies so I have four Revell 71 Cuda's unbuilt and six built. One new tool 70 AAR and three old tool 70 AAR's (one built). I have four unbuilt Revell 70 Challengers plus two of those built. Then comes the AMT's 70 Challenger's. I have three that are built and I have four unbuilt that are donors for some older MPC Challengers and Cuda's. I will need more of those AMT 70 Challengers as I have more resin bodies and old MPC E body kits to build!
  19. Yeah Brian, I had it at that show. And thank you John. Plus I'm looking foward to seeing you both at the Desert Scale Classic!!
  20. Yes, That is one of my real cars. In fact it's my first car that I learned to drive in. Here is my photobucket so you can see more photo's of it and my parts wagon. I have two of them. http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v385/darkrapid/?start=all

  21. I understand that all of the 428 Twisters got the shaker but not all of the 351 twisters did as it was an extra option. As for adding the shaker I had used the shaker from the 69 Mach 1 kit and cut a hole for it in the Boss 302 hood. Just add some styreen for the trim and you have it.
  22. Here is a somewhat unusual Cobra. The street version on the 427 Cobra. This is the Monogram release of this kit from 1989. I wanted to make this one a bit more accurate by eliminating the racing pop open gas cap and the side pipes. So the exhaust is scratch built and reworked some headers for this build. I also used resin wheels I got from Reliable Resins. I also used Tamiya mica red spray paint for this one.
  23. This is a Johan 70 Rebel Machine. This build fought with me a few times. The replacement decals I got were no good and tore easily. I got a third set from Keith Marks and that is what is on it now. The hood scoop decided to pop off after it was glued on and damaged the paint. So the hood got sanded and repainted. I know this kit has a lot of inaccuracies but I chose to only fix the one that bothered me most. I tossed the cross ram and used a resin intake, carb and aircleaner from the Johan 69 SC/Rambler kit. I made the molds myself and will cast up some more for other AMC's. I also used a small piece of styreen for the underhood section of the air box.
