Ace Hardware store sale
Greg Pugh replied to wisdonm's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
You have ACE hardware stores with models in them?? -
Looking forward to seeing the car this next weekend! Neat idea. That baby is gonna have some miles on her. Hope she makes it through all of her travels without any major problems!
-
Thanks Brian. It's been a learning experience for sure. I've never taken on a conversion like this so hopefully it turns out.
-
Thanks Brett. I ended up stripping the chrome back off of them, priming them with gray primer and then I painted them with Tamiya Silver Leaf.
-
Can't wait to see it! Nice to some "out-of-the-box" thinking.

Somebody might want to let that girl know that her left cheek is hangin' out a bit!

I love the first time you see how the model sets, that perfect stance or when it's done and you can't wipe the smile from your face and you catch yourself literally saying outloud, "That looks bad###!".

I wanted to have 'er up on all fours by tonight and I barely made it, but here she is! Finally starting to look like a car!

AMAZING work John. No doubt, hands down, THE BEST work I've seen on a model car engine ever! They look so real that.......I'm literally at a loss for words. You outdid yourself here. BRAVO!! -

How do I duplicate these aluminum wheels?
Greg Pugh replied to Greg Pugh's topic in Tips, Tricks, and Tutorials
I stripped the chrome, primed them with gray primer and then painted them with Tamiya Silver Leaf. Now I've just gotta figure out how I'm going to go about chroming the front center caps. -
I can't believe I'm going to say this but...I kinda like the wires. I think it fits it pretty good.

Ok, so here's the way I went. Let me know what you think. -
Grab some old extra parts bodies and keep practicing. Your next one will look like a million bucks! Nice work on this one.

BMF, I don't want to do this.
Greg Pugh replied to DRG's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I second this. I have 4 different levels of what my blades go through. They have their separate labeled containers as they pass through their different levels. They are: 1) Brand new. Good for BMFing and photoetch metal parts. 2) After BMFing or using for photoetch. Good for general modeling. 3) After much use and what I feel is dull it then gets used for stuff like rescribing panel lines 4) Garbage Might as well get as much use out of them as possible!
