  1. Now that you're a pro at foiling....on your next build you should try a wash on your grille. That will also make a HUGE difference in the way your model turns out! Excellent work. Keep going!!
  2. That's going to be a slick looking '60!!
  3. Is there any way you can throw some pics down on here so we don't have to click on links? Sorry, we're a lazy bunch!
  4. Get some clear acetate at your LHS and make a window. Makes for better looking windows anyway!
  5. I only had 2 1/2 hours to do the whole show and swap meet cuz we had to get my youngest back to Sacramento for his last basketball game of the season. Hit the swap meet first. We snatched up several kits (several kits too many according to the misses, not nearly enough according to me and the boys ) at really good prices. Then I looked at my watch and realized we had only 30 minutes (yikes!) to look at the show cars!! I was able to sprint through the show and took a few shots. Next year I'll plan a little better and spend the entire day, along with enter some cars of my own! Had a great time either way! Here's what few pics I could shoot: http://public.fotki.com/gpugh1976/contests-and-shows/
  6. Oh WOW!!! I don't know you, but I officially hate you! Amazing work space, I would do anything for a setup like that!!
  7. Most hobby shops will sell them too.
  8. I learned a long time ago to test fit EVERYTHING before final assembly. I appreciate the heads up though. If you can think of anything else, let me know!
  9. Brett, almost every built version of this car looks fine until you look at it's butt. The kit-supplied tailights are atrocious! I did find one that was pretty darn good and I asked the builder what he did back there. He said got his taillights from the Modelhaus so I did the same thing. They should be here anytime and I'll post pics when they show up. I'm hoping that I can get the same respectable results. I'll keep you posted so your Chevelle's hind-end looks good too!
  10. Hey Richie...first of all, welcome to the website. You've picked a great place to be. Lots of friendly folks willing to not only help you out with tips and shortcuts but also several who would give the shirt off of their back without even knowing you. You're in good company! Secondly, welcome to model building! It's a great hobby that will teach you patience and perserverance. I have absolutely enjoyed every one of my last 26 years building. Some great memories...building with my uncle when I was a kid, building with friends throughout my school years and now I get to build with my young sons. Shaping and forming the next generation. I know I didn't offer you any advice on what to do with you glue on the windshield situation but I felt like it was already covered. I decided to roll out the welcome wagon instead! Just shout if you need anything!
  11. The whole Pugh family is rollin' out in the morning. Got a wad of cash burning a hole in my pocket! Set aside a nice little amount for each of the boys too! They're so excited (5 & 8) they probably wont even sleep tonight. They've been counting down like it's Christmas. The wife said she wants to go. I'm sure she'll be excited to see me blowin' some cash on more ###### models!!
  12. Keep this going! Awesome project!
  13. I didn't use strip. I cut them out of sheet styrene by freehand.
  14. Wow Brian! That turned out REALLY nice!! I love it!
  15. It's looking awesome!
  16. I don't do that but I do make a list of every single modification I make, who the supplier was on the aftermarket parts, what colors I used and date of completion. It really helps if 5 years down the road, I really want to duplicate something from a previous build, I've got everything listed. And I like putting down the completion dates just cuz I think it's neat.
  17. FANTASTIC!! Great job!! Can't wait to see this one in person tomorrow!
  18. I'm sure Mike will get 'er all fixed up for tomorrow.
  19. WOW!!!
  20. Looks like what I flushed down the toilet this morning.
  21. At 34 years old, I hope I don't have to worry about this for a long time. Also, at 34 years old, I hopefully have enough time to finish all the ones I have so there wont be any unfinished ones to get rid of. However, I'm sure there will be finished and unfinished kits when I go but I'm sure both of my boys will enjoy 'em just as much as I have. They're both model building nuts just like me!
  22. I know exactly which one you're talking about. I was wondering about that one also.
  23. Come hell or high water, snow or lava....(ok, I might not be there if there is lava).....but, I'll be there for sure!!
  24. I don't think it's sectioned too much at all. It's still subtle enough that I thought that the first couple of pictures were "before" pictures. I'd actually say that this one is just right! Keep going on this one!
