JTalmage
Well, I finally got around to foiling the door handles on this thing. Also hit it with about 2 coats of clear. Looks great. Some small imperfections that were amplified with the addition of the clearcoat. Some smudging caused by the Q-tips while buffing the foil, and some lint/dust that just didnt want to go away no matter how much I wiped it off or blew air on it. Oh well. Over all it looks fantastic I think. I'm really glad I brought this kit back from the dead. now on to the pics! One thing I forgot to do was paint the turn signal amber in the front markers before I cleared it. I think it will be ok uncleared once I paint them on. I still have yet to paint any of my detail parts such as suspension or chassis detail. Still have to paint the front seats as well.
W-409
Good looking work with this '55 Chevy so far! It's very interesting to see more as I have one of these in progress as well and it's even almost same color. Very nice work with that BMF, body looks very good with chrome trim foiled properly. JTalmage
This one snuck up on me over the weekend and sucked me back in. I put it off for so long after finishing the BMF like I needed some sort of break haha But anyway, I somewhat detailed the chassis, just painted the frame and exhaust since they're all molded as one. Also painted the gas tank. And for some reason forgot to take a picture.. I also glued the front suspension in place, while almost throwing it across the room trying to get the tie rod glued on. As you'll notice the wheels are nice and shiny chrome again... I got some kits from a friend recently and it had the very same wheels and tires in it that didnt belong to the kit... so talk about luck! So naturally I had to mock it up and take pictures to keep me encouraged to finish it!
Krazy Rick
Thanks but it's temporary. I just wanted to see what it would look like in contrast to the wheels. I kinda regret hitting them w/ flat clear. This thing will sit up high in a gasser/street machine stance. the wheels look fine, it gives them more of an attitude

JTalmage
Got the itch and worked on this thing a lot yesterday. I BMF'd the roll bar as best I could, and I also BMF'd the center console in matte aluminum. Thought it was a nice touch, especially since I accidentally put a fingerprint in the paint which led me to do that. Finished the engine as far as I wanted to take it (no plug wires because it would have been too much of a hassle) Got the chassis finished up as well Glued the grille/headlights in and detailed the front marker lights glued the taillights in place And also installed the hood scoop, emblem, and hood ornament So then I glued the interior to the chassis and glued the wheels on it. JTalmage
So next came the body after gluing the windows in Looking in Good thing shoebox cars are square... they stand on their nose easily to glue the back bumper and license plate on! and the exhaust tips Glued on the BadMan gas tank for that extra touch even though it wasnt required on this kit Checking out the blower under that clear scoop! Next pics are under glass!
