Looks good, but correct me if I'm wrong, shouldn't it be polished aluminium?

I would think it should be dull aluminum, since it will be painted black on every surface.

Gonna look neat all shiny, though.

I am going for the factory fresh pre paint shop look!

Some WWII airplanes got a good deal of their paint right on the line. But I google-imaged and found a couple pics of more than half-finished P-61s on the production line, all nice and chrome-shiny, so why not? B)

There is an outfit in New England that is rebuilding a crashed P-61 found in New Guinea.  Haven't searched for an update lately.

I must get started on my P-61.  It is one of the more interesting aircraft in an era of interesting aircraft.

I think that's the Mid-Atlantic Air Museum, out of maybe Harrisburg PA.

The google search I mentioned above turned up several recent pics of that airplane, and it's currently in NMF too. It's basically up on its gear now, but still missing the outer wing panels. They're making fabulous progress on that thing!
