mikemodeler
Nice start, always loved the 66 Chevelle body. Looks like that chassis fit without any problems, might have to do a simple build along the same lines you have.
Bumblebi
Looking good! The Chevelle lends itself nicely to the Pro Street look!

Brutalform
Got the base coat on last night. This lacquer system appears to be like the "base coat, clear coat" the auto body shops use. It laid down really nice, I think.

Brutalform
Just laid about six coats of the lacquer system ultra Gloss clear on the car. Going to let it sit for a few days, and polish it out using micro mesh, and Novus 3 step polishing.
Brutalform
Getting some of the other parts ready, while the body dries thoroughly.

Brutalform
Thanks for the replies. I will be polishing it when I return from vacation. That should give the clear enough time to dry.
Brutalform
Just got back from Myrtle Beach. I figured id polish out the Chevelles body. I used the Micro Mesh sanding papers, and Novus #2 and #1. Edited August 28, 2016 by Brutalform added pics
Brutalform
Probably going to let the foiling go for a few days. I have some BMF, that's been sitting around for a couple years. Going to wait for a fresh sheet to arrive.
Brutalform
Looking at the bumpers, and I think I'm going to clean them up a bit. Especially removing the ugly guards, after stripping the chrome. Might go with a lightweight fiberglass or aluminum look. Maybe a silver gloss, or alclad chrome? Brutalform
I want to go with an MSD ignition, with a M.A.D prewired distributor. I made a coil out of a firewall supercoil I had in my parts box. I want to try to find some "gray" wire, for the plug boots, to keep it looking correct. Brutalform
Thank you for the positive replies, I really appreciate it. I was working on those ugly bumpers. Just need to smooth out the areas where the guards were. Still a bit bumpy in those areas. Hopefully the new sheet of BMF will arrive tomorrow, so I can get the foiling done. Brutalform
I bought a resin hood from Lex's Resin. It took some considerable sanding to get it to fit the Lindburg car. Maybe it was casted for the Revell car? anyway, I'd like to paint it satin black, and add some quick turn fasteners around it. Maybe a decal on each side of the cowl. Cant seem to find a "Harwood" or "Chevy Power" decal.

Brutalform
Got the foiling on, and the glass in. Not going to use that resin hood. after all the sanding to make it fit, I realized I sanded it short. Now the front wont hang on the grill correctly. Brutalform
Did a little work on the Chevelle today. Getting closer to complete. Still have to do the PE emblems, door handles, etc. And a little bit of under hood detail, like the coil, and a home made fuel pressure regulator. Then the wing last.
