br67
Hi, was ever a flat or dual scoop hood for the Mpc 70 and 71 Cuda?
afx
The AMT '74 snap kit has a flat hood. It's molded shut. You can cut it out and shape it to fit both the new tool Revell and the MPC bodies.
gtx6970
MPC 1970 and 71 were shaker hood only. 1972 thru 1974 were flat hood only ( with optional glue on scoop ) like mentioned the more recent snap kit is flat ,,,but molded in

You might want to look in the Aftermarket/Resin section on this Forum. There is a link that lists many suppliers who specialize in parts to modify almost anything ever offered by the major model suppliers

Casey
Be forewarned the MPC hood, once cut free from the body shell, is a good deal thicker than the Revell hood, so you'll need to thin the edges evenly all the way around to allow it to fit properly on the Revell body. It's far from a drop on fit once you separate it and clean up the vertical edges.
john sharisky
Competition Resins offers a Cuda stock hood (flat). It's from the MPC kit. It's white resin and a very good casting. John
br67
Thanks guys - I think I'll order a couple of hoods next week. I'm just toying with some ideas for these 2 builders I bought recently
br67
Got my resin stock flat hoods and quality is very good. Heres a quick mock up using Missing Link wheels and Moebius white walls. Trying to channel a Gran Coupe with this one
br67
Another mock up. Trying to channel a 70 Gran coupe
gtx6970
Just an FYI, A 1971 Gran Coupe does not have the fender gills like a Cuda does.

Where are you likely to find another one that clean? Convert a 74 to a 71, or use a Johan 71 pro stock. They're easier to find than that MPC 71.
