Ken Gilkeson Posted October 1, 2018 Posted October 1, 2018 new pictures of an old build, this is the 1/16 monogram kit that has been modified.
SpreadAxle Posted October 2, 2018 Posted October 2, 2018 That is a really nice Pete. Seeing the woman next to it reminds me of the old OVERDRIVE magazine covers.
Ken Gilkeson Posted October 6, 2018 Author Posted October 6, 2018 shop doors too small for this build Pat. thanx everyone.
RAMBENNA Posted October 18, 2018 Posted October 18, 2018 fabulous Truck , great lookin and nice color too
olsbooks Posted October 19, 2018 Posted October 19, 2018 (edited) I REALLY like this. The idea of use photos for people never entered my mind. The shop is nice too. Time to recreate some of the old Peterbilt "Class" ads from the 70's and 80's. Might have to try something like the below for a diorama. Thank you for the inspiration. Any suggestions on how to do whitewalls? Peace. Edited October 25, 2018 by olsbooks
PettyKW43 Posted October 19, 2018 Posted October 19, 2018 Whitewalls are easy depending on what tire , use white acrylic paint ( do not use enamel paint it will never dry), and either a steady hand or a paint mask! Some 1/16 car kits have whitewalls that might work for a 1/25 truck tire.
olsbooks Posted October 19, 2018 Posted October 19, 2018 Thanks, RIchard. I'm gonna give the acrylic a try. I just ass-u-me d it wouldn't stick...and cheap-skate here is too much of a tightwad to buy resin ones. Consider it on the docket. Peace.
DrKerry Posted November 4, 2018 Posted November 4, 2018 Nice build Ken! Love the gold on it! I never liked to many vehicles in gold but that look snazzy!! As always great build!!
