With the discussion on another thread about Utes I was considering building a Ute from the Revell 57 Ford wagon kit. But are there any right hand drive dashboards available or would it be something you need to scratch build?

Do the kits sold in Australia have right hand drive or do they have to just deal with the backward American kits ?

Perhaps an Australian organisation makes resin-cast dashboards ( Parts Box , perhaps ? )

From what I understand and from what I've seen , Oz doesn't mandate RHD conversions for classic / antique / collectable vehicles anymore. I have seen ambre turn signal / hazard lamp conversions and-or additions made to , say , c.1965 Valiants

You might consider a Japanese version...they are right-hand drive.

I wonder if watercraft in Japan, Australia, or Great Britain have the steering wheel on the left (port) side...

Australian Utes are totally different to the American pick ups, there more based on the saloon version, check out photos of the 1952 Chevrolet pick up in America compared to the 52 Chevrolet Ute in Australia.

The top one is a 57 as it has the V8 on the grill, the 56 did not have this, it also has 057 on the number plate. At the moment I am building 3 resin ones of these 55 56 57.

has the American 56 front turn signals , missed the 57 on the plate oops

doing some research it seem there are purposely built Utes that are based on the passenger car and Utes that are the same as what we Americans call pickups.

They call anything with a cargo tray a Ute.

The bottom one looks like a standard 57 pickup truck with 57 car rear fenders. The web page stated it was a rare 57 Ute. Maybe they were just jesting.
