66belair Posted November 6, 2018 Posted November 6, 2018 So happy to have finally finished another model this year, I’ve only finished about 5. This was my first resin conversion attempt. It’s a Time Machine Resin body and interior. The AMT 65 Galaxie 500 XL was the donor. I used all the chassis and engine parts from that kit. I even left the 4 spd trans as there are a few that were built from the factory that way. The engine has plug wires added and a coil from MAD. It did not turn out as nice as o wanted but live and learn. Hope y’all like it. Comments welcome.
Againmikewins Posted November 6, 2018 Posted November 6, 2018 Phenomenal job on this sweet 4 door Galaxie!
Lovefordgalaxie Posted November 6, 2018 Posted November 6, 2018 I'm with the guys that say the car looks pretty good. If we consider the fact it's your first resin conversion, (being there done that, and hate resin bodies) it looks awesome. I would just add the bits of foil missing from the windshield trim, as the A columns are covered with a stainless steel piece of trim on the 1:1, and no paint shows. This detail was shared between the Galaxies and Fairlanes of the same vintage, and AMT failed to catch this detail.

I somewhat corrected my 2dr build when I built it though.

bbowser Posted November 8, 2018 Posted November 8, 2018 I love seeing these grocery-getters done well. Great work.
Olderisbetter Posted November 12, 2018 Posted November 12, 2018 Love to see the 4doors. Any make. I would really like some 1930-40's 4 doors. I built a resin bodied 41 Ford 4 dr. Used a resin body from a 1948 with the front group from a 41 woody. was both 1/25 scale but the resin body was a full 1/8 in wider than the front group. had to some cutting and glueing and bondo and....
