Chevy Truck Dog Dish Hubcaps Kit Source?

Recommended Posts

I have two slightly different styles of Chevy dog dish style hubcaps, but not sure which kit(s) each was included with. *edit* Below left, caps from the AMT Chevy Van kits, but not sure on the caps pictured on the right...MPC, maybe?

I can't think of an MPC kit with those hubcaps.  Besides the AMT Chevy vans, one of the early Sixties SMP/AMT Chevy pickups had caps like that.  I'm thinking of the '62, maybe the '61: '60 had a different style cap, '63 had a cap like these but it was molded as a unit with the outer wheel.

Just following up to confirm Mark's comment. The caps on the right are from an AMT '61 or '62 Chevy pickup kit.

Sorry for hijacking the thread but what would be the best source for these hubcaps?

The ones you see on the bottom c10 step side. And are they the same as these?

You can't hotlink the images from that website, but they are saved and uploaded here:

They appear to be the same, but I'v never seen those particular hubcaps in either a kit, nor available from the aftermarket.

I have one 1:1 hubcap like that, not sure if it is 12" or 10" but I got it from a friend that was looking for a new lid for his fryingpan and found the chevy hubcap to be the wrong size. I have for years wanted to build the blue and white C10 Cheyenne and put it on a base with the farmer and the field.

The only accurate 70's Chevy van hubcap was done by Revell in 1/32 scale,  it is the'69 thru '75 style used in 1/2 ton vans and 1/2 ton pickups. Unfortunately, it is molded into the wheel, and its 1/32 scale.. AMT tried doing the 1 ton version on their 1/25 van, but screwed up ( Casey's first photo on left ). The edges need to be filed down to be correct.
