ash74 Posted June 27, 2019 Posted June 27, 2019 Hello All I am wondering if someone can guide me on the interior colours of the 7/11 & Folgers IMSA Mustangs, are they close to the Revell colour callouts? Also any ideas on the 7/11 Blue & the Folger's red. Bear in mind I am Australia, so our colour range is pretty limited. Thanks Ash
Dave Van Posted June 27, 2019 Posted June 27, 2019 When I saw the Roush IMSA cars at his shop the entire chassis was a very light gray. 7/11 blue is TS-15 Tamiya. Folgers was a met red on the darker side.....spray can...maybe mica red over gold???
ash74 Posted November 9, 2019 Author Posted November 9, 2019 Hello All Sorry to rehash an old question. But would anyone have an idea on what colour the engine would be on the IMSA mustangs? I am thinking either Ford blue, Aluminium or gunmetal/metallic black. Could anyone shed any light on this? Just as another thought, is there a website or book that would have pictures? I am not finding a lot with a "google" search. Thanks Ash
skittles Posted November 11, 2019 Posted November 11, 2019 If your having problems with the Revell IMSA GTO Mustang kit decals there is an alternative to them. Indycals make all the kit version decals and a few more. They work great and conform to models compound curves.

vamach1 Posted November 11, 2019 Posted November 11, 2019 Those are some awesome pictures on the proboards. You rarely get to see that much detail (the body off) and in perfect focus. Thanks JC. My 30 year old build does not look that bad given the lack of reference photos back then.

I'm thinking we're talking about the later Revell modeled '85 and up V8 Mustangs here? That was a Roush-Protofab chassis: https://www.hemmings.com/blog/article/85-mustang-imsa-gto/

Looks like that car was restored to a very high standard. Kinda makes me appreciate the model all over again - it's pretty accurate, with plenty of opportunity to add your own detail. ash74 Posted November 12, 2019 Author Posted November 12, 2019 Hello All Thank you all, your input has been awesome. I do have the Indycal's 7/11 decals (& the Folgers for that matter) which is why I am trying to get as much detail as I can. Again thank you all Ash
ash74 Posted November 12, 2019 Author Posted November 12, 2019 Hello All One last quick question (I hope!!!) Does anyone know of a painting mask set for the body of the 7/11 IMSA mustang. I couldn't find anything obvious on line. Failing that does anyone have any tips or tricks they used to paint theirs? I am mainly concerned with the bonnet area. I had a look & seems more complex then I originally thought. I thought where the front of the bonnet is, is the demarcation of where the blue ends. It also has rounded corners, which I struggle with especially when there are no cheat lines. Thanks again. Ash
kitbash1 Posted November 12, 2019 Posted November 12, 2019 The blocks on most T/A cars were black / gun metal colour. If you look at the photos you can see the block colours. As for the masking templates for the IMSA cars, there were none. If you want to make your own, photo-copy the decal sheet and transfur it to wide masking tape.
donb Posted November 18, 2019 Posted November 18, 2019 If still wondering about the Folger Red. Ford used Strawberry Red for their Folgers cars. 1989?-1992? Or so.
