Modelbuilder Mark Posted September 1, 2019 Posted September 1, 2019 One of my first childhood cars I liked. Looking at that "trunk" tho, I am surprised Chim Chim did not burn his monkey butt given the designed the mufflers right in there! LOL Looks like a fun build!
mariojr Posted September 1, 2019 Author Posted September 1, 2019 Lol. I built it for my son. Didn’t realize there was a monkey in the picture
MrObsessive Posted September 1, 2019 Posted September 1, 2019 Very nice! One of my FAVORITE cartoons I watched in the '60's as a kid! 2 hours ago, Modelbuilder Mark said: Looking at that "trunk" tho, I am surprised Chim Chim did not burn his monkey butt given the designed the mufflers right in there! LOL Funny how they did this model. In the original Japanese "manga" (which I have), the car is shown in some stories as having a mid engine. In the cartoon series though, a number of times I saw the car as a front engined one. I built one of these from scratch a loooong time ago using a Ferrari 250 GTO as a 'base'. One wouldn't recognize it as such by looking at it as the car to me looked like a customized '57 Ferrari Testarossa. ?
Dragonhawk1066 Posted September 1, 2019 Posted September 1, 2019 Nice job. Loved this show as a kid. Can't believe I haven't bought and built this kit yet myself, lol.

I bought the series off amazon. I could have missed some. I enjoyed watching it after school. I have yet to build mine ..

Fabulous interpretation you have built here.
Jim N Posted September 3, 2019 Posted September 3, 2019 Great job! I really like it a lot. I remember watching this show as a kid. Couldn't wait for school to end so I could get home and watch the show. Once got into a fist fight with another kid over something that either did or didn't happen in a show. I don't recall either of us landing a punch; although it wasn't from a lack of effort.
