dragcarz Posted August 30, 2020 Posted August 30, 2020 I’m always amazed at the amount of time and work modelers are willing to put in, in order to accurately replicate something that moved them. Amazing work here Phil! It’s going to look great. I’m following.

Amazing work here Phil! It’s going to look great. I’m following. Thank you Roger. It amazes me too. At the start I figured all I had to do was make it a full bumper, add some flares and a roll cage. I have really enjoyed this build at it has been both very interesting and challenging but I have to admit I now just want to get finished so I can move onto a new project.
Phildaupho Posted October 18, 2020 Author Posted October 18, 2020 Body in white I id not do any work on this project during September to build a model of a friend's Model A street-rod but since the beginning of October I have been working away at it as time permits. I did have a few issues getting everything to fit and stay together like the hood in particular with its extra underneath structure. As a point of interest - the real car did run with a gap at the front of the hood for extra cooling !! The paint is Tamiya Bright White. Next will be the Fred Cady decal application which I am sure will be challenging over the rear spoiler and license plate area. The next time you see this will likely be Under Glass hopefully by early November.
Quiet Eric Posted October 19, 2020 Posted October 19, 2020 Great project, can't wait to see it finished. Those west Texas boys knew how to build a racecar!
Steve H Posted October 19, 2020 Posted October 19, 2020 Hi Phil, your attention to detail is fantastic, and execution superb. This coming together really nice. Thanks for sharing the how to on the fender flares. Perfect timing, as I am planning a pro touring Camaro project this winter that will require similar mods. The plan is to build similar to this. Look forward to seeing your project in person soon. Cheers, Steve

Thanks Steve - That is going to be wickedly cool and pro-touring actually crossed my mind as I was taking the photos Edited October 19, 2020 by Phildaupho
