Hawk Silly Surfers Beach Bunny

Recommended Posts

I got the set as a gift recently and decided it was time to get built. The molds for these are in amazing shape. For parts marked Hawk 1964 it is incredible. Almost no flash to speak of, and all parts seem to line up effortlessly.  I took a page out of Harry's book when it comes to joining parts. I use the cement as the filler so as little filler as possible is used. It works a charm and it is the only way to join pieces. And these kits are loaded with that.

Almost exclusively acrylics used here, a few touch ups and it's on to the next one. The Tandem Surfers is up next.

That turned out really nice.  I did the "Hodad Making The Scene" one awhile back, I'll have to see if I can find it and post pics of it.  Can't wait to see how the other ones you have turn out when you get them done.

Beautiful work Bob , I love all of these kits and can't wait to see more of yours !  Your paint is so smooth , I'm guessing you used an airbrush  ?

I used an airbrush on the skin tones. White acrylic primer (Vallejo) tinted with a bit of the skin tone. Then 2 layers of the skin tones for a smooth finish.

The rest is hand painted. Oh, the board blue was out of a rattle can.
