Here is a JD tractor that was made by Ertl back in the mid 60's. It is 1/16 die-cast and someone had replaced the front wheels and the rear wheels were broken.

Filled in the seams and added a PTO shaft and 3 point hitch brackets

Made a custom steering column and added levers.

Added 3 point hitch and converted it to a wide front. Plus nice coat of paint.

Some duals, some fat front tires, front weights and decals and it's ready for the museum.

Tom this is great, the wide fronts always look better. The custom steering column and levers add that farm feel. Perfect tire selection.

Thank you this is very helpful, I am still pursuing the Ertl IH 886.

Thanks Tom that's what I thought. They want more, they have other tractors and a dozer I've been eyeing. Try for a bundle price. Well let them cool off and I'll go back, not trying to be a pest.

I have a few hundred Cat pieces in my collection. I can't think of any that I have restored though.

NIICE! I got all "CAT" Norscott has made in 1/64th to date..... I'd LOVE to find a elevated track dozer, and a articulated dump truck in 1/64th in CAT livery, but..... thats a long shot (I don't believe Norscott makes them!) So.....

I do however got a few Cat model motors in 1/24th -1/25th to make so I'm looking for some Cat "yellow" for the engines...... -AND I have a old Ertl D11T to restore.....

Ertl made an articulated dump in 1/64 and some of the first Norscott Cats made were on the old Ertl tooling. The old Cat uses the bright yellow not the current mud yellow.

Not sure about the D11T ... Ertl made a D10 in the 80'd?

I have all the 1/24 Ertl and Ruhl from days gone by and all the Ertl 1/64, 1/50 and 1/16. I only have the first few years of Norscott. Oh and I have some old Revell plastic pcs .. four I think.
