Well after 2 months, my paint is FINALLY on the way!

Once it's painted, I'll be able to get it finished.

That's what I hate about being a kid--you can't just hop in a car and drive to the hobby shop to get paint!

Hey!, I'm 53 (still a kid tho, ask my friends! LOL), don't have a car, have a bicycle (with 2 flat tires, well 1 actual flat, the other just lost air sitting around), the hobby shop is to far to walk to, have to take a bus or bug my sister to take me to the shop.

Stay a kid as long as you can, Andy. Time goes by so fast, you'll be old before you know it.

Oh I know, my 13th birthday is just a couple days away and it seems like it was only yesterday I turned 12

Job well done Andy but i do want to say, Insight of all the bickering you almost loose sight of the reason we are here which is to view Andy's project. I think that it is inconsiderate and rude to take over HIS thread with all the back and forth rederick and arguing. It doesnt matter which engine is a lighter color or which has a higher compression. It's Andys project and his thread and should be respected as such. You guys talk specs good but how many of you have actually been on the working end of a torc wrench? I apologize to you Andy for your thread being so rudely interupted my comment included.

So after 3 months of the back-and-forth with 'facts' thing ended, you have to come in here, Romell, spit your 'holier than thou' drivel, and then insult us with the question of 'knowing what end of the torque wrench' to use? The Marines must have messed with your head. I did try to PM you about this, but thanks to this sites constant server issues, it never made it. You want to go toe-to-toe with me about the mechanics aspect, we can do it in PM to preserve Andys thread. Don't you have a build going in at least 2 different sections of this forum (for maximum 'look at me' factor) you need to be worrying about?

Andy, the 'Plum Crazy' will look good on the A-body. Let us know when it gets her shiny coat! (Happy Birthday by the way)

Whoa. Missed your birthday, Andy. Sorry. HAPPY BIRTHDAY! :o

I wish I could remember what I was doing when I was 13. Take your time growing up.

Thanks Jim.

And I just realized today that my kid days are about over :)

I may have to grow older, but I never have to grow up!

Thanks for the birthday wishes!

I got my Plum Crazy, but first I need to get another coat of primer down. I'm guessing for Plum Crazy it's best to use white primer?

I would think so, unless you want a almost black shade of purple, I would think the lighter primer with maybe a base coat of silver to give a nice bright purple.

Hey Andy,

First off...Happy Birthday!! Thirteen is such a great birthday, I celebrated mine 5 times so far. Hope you had a good day with your friends, family and lots of cake. Ok, to the thread. Use the silver over the primer like dragracer said, it will give it a little more "pop" factor. I think you will like the results. I have a question...at the beginning of your thread when you had the car delivered, where did you get those pallets? They are very nice. I am glad your thread settled down a little bit, after all, it is about your car, your willingness to share your build with us (which we appreciate) and your imagination. That's what makes it good, no, great....is your imagination. Color, motor, etc.....fageddaboudit... if Andy likes it, then it's good. Keep doing what you do, have fun, and man, are you a good modeler for 13!! I was still trying to open the glue!!

Thanks Mike! We only had family over for my birthday, as I have no friends. I guess I'm the oddball kid on the block...

And the pallets, I believe those came from actionfarmtoys.com. They are actual 1/25 scale pallets. A long time ago, I always played with my farm toys, which were 1/16 scale. I decided the pallets were too small, and put them away. Then when I started building a couple years ago, I found them again and knew they would come in handy for something!

Oh, and I still have trouble opening the glue because it leaks into the cap so bad and then it dries  One of my mottos is, "A good whack fixes everything!" :P:rolleyes::lol:

Hope the purple turns out the way you want it,I have always had trouble spraying purple, it never turned out the shade I wanted it, I see the cars people on the site & in the magazines paint & how they come out looking..well, PURPLE, mine never do, always too dark no matter what my base coat was, so I made it easy....stopped painting things purple!, Good luck on your Dart.Of course, post pics!

Thanks Richard, I just sprayed the Plum Crazy right over Model Master white primer, it came out just fine :)

I just wetsanded it a while ago, it's drying now. Then I'll put some clear on it, the black stripe, and then more clear.
