crazyjim
Here's the surfboard that was made from 5 gallon size stir stick. It was made by Ken Leslie and that's his name here on the forum. http://public.fotki.com/oldcarguy1/1939-shasta-teardro/dscn6629.html

Dr. Cranky
You can make a template out of tape, stick it to a sheet of styrene and make yourself one, or make it out of real wood for that matter. It's fun.
Jantrix
Yeah just get some 1:1 dimensions, scale them down, get some sheet stock and...................................
Dr. Cranky
You can get similar results to David's real wood long board. Excellent.
DavidChampagne
I finally got around to finishing my surfboard. I stained it then covered it with Polyurethane. Then I decided to clear coat it with Testers Enamel clear. The clear felt dry to touch but never hardened. If I set the board on a rack, it would sort of dent the finish. And this was after days and days of drying. So I wet sanded with 1500 and 2000 and applied two coats of Future. It came out pretty good, considering I snapped and had to re-glue the fin,(THREE TIMES)!

wisdonm
I have a modeling fiend in Australia, who is an avid surfer. I sent him a pix of a surfboard that I saw in the Ferrari store in South Beach, Fl. I think it was around $3,000. He sent me these three boards. The one on the left is from the pix that I sent him. The one on the right uses PE emblems.
southpier
Buy some 1/16th inch basswood, layer two sheets together, cut out shape and sand to your hearts content. Use a piece of sheet plastic for the fin. You can make a bunch boards for not much money. The pics aren't about the board, but that's how I did this one.
