Guest Johnny
Don't think back then we would have seen Plymouth using a VW van to deliver parts. But Nothing much cooler than the old VW Van's!(and Bugs) Nice job on the build, really looks good! Of course wrenching on VW's for years kind of makes me a little biased towards them! Gluhead
Yeah, probably not very likely, but it looks cool anyway. Nifty T2.
Shelby 427 1965
Thanks everyone! I just adore Plymouths, and since those decals seemed to be the only white ones I have that would fit, seemed like a perfect choice! Bit of imagination goes a long way Cheers! Guest Johnny
Been there, done that too! In 1968 I entered a local model contest. Built a "gasser" and found some old decals in a friends parts box for a name on the car "Hemi Hunter" seemed appropriate enough. I took second place with it! The only time I ever won anything at a contest. Problem was the car was a 68, Charger!!! Guess I got the wrong idea as to the meaning of the name! Chris White
I so want to see all my high school friends in a cloud of smoke coming out of the side door....What a great model, thanks for the memories
rmvw guy
I love the bus! I remember seeing one of these at our local VW dealer used as a parts vehicle but, it wasn't decked out like yours. Cool!
george 53
Are there TWO of them? Or does the pic itself seem to change color? Is it purple, or blue? Either color, it came out great! I LIKE VW busses. Edited February 2, 2013 by george
Shelby 427 1965
Thanks everyone! There's only one, for some reason outdoors the Tamiya Purple seems to look... Blue? Rather annoying.
Shelby 427 1965
Okay, took some more outside photos to hopefully show off the purple better.. And Hemi my cat insisted in being in one. Cheers!
Erik Smith
Nice looking VW model. Your camera is the reason the paint looks different - it's the white balance, which changes with the source of light.
rustybill1960
Both very clean sharp builds! Thank You for sharing Later Russ
TLes
Sweet build! Always had a soft spot for VWs whether van, bug or Karmann Ghia. Been looking for the Ghia kit, a little hard to find but might see one at model shows. You did a great job on the van

Shelby 427 1965
Thanks everyone, I really appreciate all the comments! TLes - the Tamiya Karmann seems common enough, plan on getting one, I've the Beetle in the stockpile too. Planning on building the 3 dubyas.
