This model started as the Polar Lights "Big John" kit. I filled all the panel lines on the truck, hood and doors. After filling and sanding, I primered the body and then gave it a base coat of Testor's chrome. I then applied 3 coats of Boyd's True Blue, wet sanded it after it dried and applied two coats of Testor's Transparent Blue. Slixx decals finished off the body. I'm happy with the color as it compares well with the pictures I've been able to find on the Internet. The rest of the model is finished box stock with detail painting. Hope you like it and thanks for looking!

One of my favorite cars. Those wheels just scream NITRO to me - I still think FED, those old funny cars, and outlaw fuel altereds made up the best line up of all time.

PS Gotta give NHRA it's props, though...anyone who saw Anton Brown's crash this weekend would have been amazed he walked away from that!

One of the first models I built was the MPC issue of the 70-71 Candies and Hughes Cuda. I absolutely love this build! It brings back a lot of memories.

Excellent build Steve. If I get my hands on another Big John Cuda, I'd like to build it as this car as well.

This kit is being reissued by Round 2 with the decals for this car.

Nice build as well.
