drodg
I have a few more detail items to finish and few fitting issues that I need to resolve but close to finishing after a few years of working on and off. This is a Shawn Carpenter 62 Grand Prix conversion of the 1962 AMT Catalina kit. I wouldn't even want to think how many times I have started and stopped working on this kit. It is painted correct Burgundy metallic from MCW paints. This wasn't the easiest conversion I have ever done but will end up looking good in the end. Anyhow thanks for looking. cortinanut
Gorgeous! I love any '61-'64 Pontiac, and this one has real class.
Porscheman
Beautiful build!!! Back in 64 my uncle and his son both had white 62 Grand Prix's. My uncles had light blue interior and my cousin had black and a set of lake pipes. Great cars.
bbowser
Great model. I learned to drive in a '64, got a real soft spot for the big Ponchos.
drodg
When I was a kid my uncle bought a new bright red 62 Grandprix beautiful car. Thanks for all the compliments. I should have bought a few of these conversions. Since they are no longer available.

drodg
Thanks everyone. I had a few issues with body fit that may or may have not occured with the standard Catalina body and interior. It could have been me also! I will finish it up this weekend and on to an original MPC 1968 Charger R/T that is replicating my 1:1 car that I had a few years ago. Mike Kucaba
Nice job on that. "(Since they are no longer available)". Are you sure about that? When did you last try to get one. I picked up two at last years Tucson show (2012) from Bob Zetterman. PM me if you're interested.
