Q tip Posted March 29, 2014 Author Share Posted March 29, 2014 Now that i have the new set of moebius wheels and tires its time to figure out to mount them on amt kits and this is what I came up with. By using two gauges of tube I managed to built spindles and races.but first I had to open the wheel holes with a rat tail file. I will let the pics tell the story. Q tip Posted March 30, 2014 Author Share Posted March 30, 2014 1/8 for the small tube and 3/16 for the big tube. on the wheels i enlarged the holes to receive the 3/16 tube, this size was a perfect fit for the stub on the steer axle. for the rear ends i drilled the axles to except the 1/8 tube and then followed suit with the 3/16 in the wheel. this method will give you a nice snug fit with really no alignment issues. Q tip Posted April 14, 2014 Author Share Posted April 14, 2014 thanks for the comments. i'm going to make a homemade bending jig to get the sharp bends. i just used a straight edge for the bumper corners. this stuff is thin enough you can score it with a blade , but its not practical let alone is a waste of a blade. but practice makes perfect. if i can stop getting side tracked i'll get some color flowing! john Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

purepmd Posted April 15, 2014 Share Posted April 15, 2014 Hey John, I think you might best your big sleeper 'shaker if your not careful. Very slick. If you don't mind a quick tip; Fiscars makes scissors and roller cutters, like this; They are cheap, and any Walmart craft dept has them. They roll very well against a metal straight edge, and once a little dull, make great creases in thin sheet aluminum and stainless. Way easier than a #11 blade.
