Wings!

First I glued the Body halves together. Next I filled the openings on the ends with scrap plastic. Then I sanded down the ends of the Body and Wings with a big sanding block, to make flat areas for gluing the Wings to.

Using Zap-A-Gap, I glued the Wings flush along the Top Edge and the Front.

The 2 Body Parts stick out way past the Wings. So I marked them for cutting.

Then I cut off the excess Body Parts with a Cut-Off Wheel.

More Vents!

I decided to leave the Cut out areas open except at the ends. I cut a small piece of plastic strip to fit each end and glued them in place.

Next I carved out the areas behind the 3rd Engine and filed them down smooth.

Then I cut 2 pieces of plastic strip and glued them in the ends of the slots as shown.

Ira have to say wasn't too sure about this one. However as you continue to add and modify things I'm beginning to like the design. Any ideas for color?

Thanks Bob!

I'm thinking about Metalflake Purple with Silver & Gold accents... B)

Blend It In!

I sanded off the top Vent to make the Rear Vents Blend in with the Corvette Body.

Then I applied some putty and sanded it smooth. After a little more sanding I applied another coat of primer.

New Dash!

I decided to Re-Do the Dash. I thought the Instrument Panel stuck out too far, so I cut it off.

Next I sanded the back down until the Panel was nice & thin.

Then I sanded the Dash flat. That's most of the Body Work. After I do a little more sanding it will be time for the last coat of primer.

Purple-Lisious!

I finished the body work and applied a smooth coat of Grey Primer. After the Primer dried, I applied a couple coats of Tamiya Silver Leaf. After the Silver dried, I fogged the underside with Testors Purple-Lisous and then applied 3 coats to the top side of the Raider.

Ira, you're continuing to amaze us all with your outlandish, off-the-wall creations. Where do your ideas come from..??

Thanks Richard!

I think the ideas come from the Models, I like to look through several different Kits for ideas. Sometimes I get good ideas and sometimes I don't... B)

Wild, wild, wild. It just never ends with you Ira.

Gold & Flames!

I picked up a couple sets of these Corvette Flame Decals. Fortunately I saved a set for the Raider Vette.

I was the Lucky Gut at NNL West this year! I won these "Fremont Racing Specialties", Gold & Black Decals in the NNL Raffle!

It took a while but I got the Vette Flames to fit over the Scoops.

So is this a street or racesaucer?I can't see a "stock"saucer running the wild flames and other decals. There is also an obious lack of armaments or weapons of an interstellar class so I'm again thinking that it's not intended as a tactial unit.

Looking forward to you to your clarification as I am sure are other dazed and amazed people.
