Abell82 Posted September 11, 2011 Posted September 11, 2011 (edited) You've probably seen this in the Fox Community build, (or other places). But if not, here are a few pics. I decided it was time to give it it's own thread... It began life as a 1993 Mustang Cobra by Revell. It was NOT a resin body. Although I did add a resin front bumper and rear spoiler, of my own design. Here it is in it's infancy. I later scrapped the resin hood, and used the stock hood instead. Here is the body painted It is factory Ford color called Bright Calypso Green Metallic.... And the interior... Chassis and interior... Edited September 11, 2011 by Abell82
Abell82 Posted September 11, 2011 Author Posted September 11, 2011 (edited) I added five star "pony" wheels from a 1991 Mustang Gt convertible kit. And finally the finished Model... Edited September 11, 2011 by Abell82
Abell82 Posted September 11, 2011 Author Posted September 11, 2011 (edited) It's not perfect, but I think it's pretty good. Edited September 11, 2011 by Abell82
whale392 Posted September 11, 2011 Posted September 11, 2011 (edited) Beautiful work, Jason. Too good to keep it hidden in the FOX thread! By the way, I love the color, and am getting the 85 SVO ready to wear this shade, along with some Bullitt wheels. Edited September 11, 2011 by whale392
whale392 Posted September 11, 2011 Posted September 11, 2011 Jackson; that's why us GT drivers/owners with taste either 1) Run a Cobra rear bumper cover, or 2) Buy a 1982-86GT as they don't have the 'Fat Chic' rear bumper treatment!
kelson Posted September 11, 2011 Posted September 11, 2011 That looks really awesome!,i have the reliable resin coupe even though it was roasted on this forum, but i'm glad i have it,i remember someone on this forum saying Revell has a LX mustang rumored to be coming in the next year or two.
Sixties Sam Posted September 12, 2011 Posted September 12, 2011 Very well done Mustang! The color choice seems just right for it. Sam
Abell82 Posted September 13, 2011 Author Posted September 13, 2011 Thanks everyone, I am glad you liked it.
charlie8575 Posted September 13, 2011 Posted September 13, 2011 Nicely done. I always liked that color, too. Charlie Larkin
Olskoolrodder Posted September 19, 2011 Posted September 19, 2011 One of my favorites from the cbp thread! AWESOME conversion, looks almost 1:1 :D
fastram Posted September 19, 2011 Posted September 19, 2011 Great job! It brings back memories of the real Calipso Coral LX I had a few years ago. Keep up the great work, and remember to build for yourself and no one else. You'll enjoy the hobby a lot better!
57peppershaker Posted November 21, 2011 Posted November 21, 2011 Just seen this, wow ! Fantastic ! Are the front & rear resin bumpers still availible ?
whale392 Posted November 21, 2011 Posted November 21, 2011 Jason cast those for this project, and I remembered he and I had discussed maybe casting them for future use/sale. I don't know if He is going to, but I can see a market for them (hint, hint Jason! )
'08SEAL Posted November 22, 2011 Posted November 22, 2011 MAJOR AWESOMENESSS! We have an 88 5.0 that we are gonna clean up and get running again

4bangen Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 (edited) I would be in for a pair of those front bumpers! edit: oh and awesome fox. I had a coupe that color. Edited November 23, 2011 by 4bangen
FASTBACK340 Posted November 24, 2011 Posted November 24, 2011 Great build & color choice. An old co-worker had a 1:1 Mustang in that color with polished Centerlines.
Abell82 Posted November 24, 2011 Author Posted November 24, 2011 I have contacted Missing Link and Bandit resins, but niether was interested in casting them, as Reliable Resin makes one, and Revell is reported to be working on one of them, in 125th scale. It was the wrong scale for Kris Morgan. He would also prefer 1/25th scale. Anyone have another suggestion?
