  1. Can you inform me on what TRaK is or give me a link?
  2. I don't know if you're familiar with Reddit or not, but I have found success with the /picsrequest subreddit. I described what I wanted for my computer wallpapers and the next morning I woke up to 2 custom wallpapers exactly like I wanted. Cost me nothing. It's worth a shot.
  3. I feel the same way. Rarely do I notice something wrong on here if think of a good idea that they haven't, but if I do I don't say anything. More than likely they are doing far better than I could do so who am I to criticize?
  4. I'm at a temporary standstill. I need to get paint and sandpaper, but it's not worth the 20 mile trip to town just for that. I took a picture of the custom decals but for some reason the file is too large, even though I took it on my phone like all my other pics. I'll try to get that fixed to show those off.
  5. My plan for this is to convert a Revell Boss 302 and a Polar Lights 1970 Torino into Cobra Jet drag cars with a Galaxie trailer to match. Eventually I'll get another trailer, but they have to share for now. I got some custom decals to match my local Ford dealer.
  6. Got a rack mocked up and the rear tires on. The rack is made completely of shaved down sprue. Still need to add some cross braces and more supports. Trying to decide if I want to try adding another rail on the sides.
  7. Where about in KY? I'm from way south in Indiana
  8. I'm way ahead of everyone, but I'm trying to finish this up to get onto the next project. I got the body resprayed in flat black and mounted to the chassis. I scratch built a push bar to push cars around the junkyard. Then got it mounted along with the door handles, mirrors, and wipers. All I have left is the wheels! Oh and as I was typing this out I decided to build a construction rack for it. Thought it would fit. My ideas never stop.
  9. I see many of you post pictures of your stashes or workbenches and I'm so jealous. Everything model related I own is in the picture below, minute a couple glue bombs. All my kits, tools, paint, everything. As jealous as I get sometimes, you all really inspire me and show me what I have to look forward to. Someday I'll have a stash to show off.
  10. I did know this, but I'd like to build/restore them and not just buy shiny show cars. Although I'd be hated by many for painting an 03 Mystichrome.
  11. I saw that there is going to be a model car contest and swap meet in Lousiville on July 19th. Anyone planning on going?
  12. Terminators are my dream cars. I want an 03 Mystichrome and an 04 Comp Orange. Most people want a Ferrari or Lambo. I want those.
  13. I'm 20 and have been building off and on for about 8 years. I've only really completed about 6 models, 5 of which are in painted glue bombs. More recently I've began taking it seriously. I don't know anyone else personally around here that models. I'm sure there are people though. My local Michael's and HL have a decent selection but don't seem to bring many visitors to the model aisle. My local HTUSA is about 95% R/C. Last time I was there all of their styrene bins were just sitting there empty. One of my LHS's is pretty train oriented and the prices on their model stuff is too high for me to afford. My other LHS has a decent selection of modeling stuff, but is geared toward R/C as well. I try and support them when I can. Most of my friends don't even know I model. It seems like everyone thinks it's a childish hobby, even though it's quite the opposite.
  14. Look at a more side angle of the 03-04s. The foglight bezel sticks out quite a bit.
  15. I could do the back end, but the front will require more modification to make a Cobra.
  16. Any chance you'll cast this body when you've completed the transformation? I would love to have a couple of these, but I don't have the skills to convert it.
  17. Update: I was actually able to pop the interior and all the windows out fairly easily without damage. The build is going a whole new direction. It's now going to be a parts runner as part of a community build. I sanded for 3 hours today getting the old paint off. I'm gonna shoot it flat black and weather it.
  18. I knew what you meant, but I already had this started. My local junkyard uses a station wagon as a parts runner.
  19. Here's where I am so far. I screwed up the paint pretty bad so I'm gonna sand it down the best I can, shoot it flat black, and add some weathering, maybe some dents. Then I might throw some old decals on there.
  20. The truck I'm building would be a perfect junkyard runner! I'm probably 50% done with it though.
  21. 3D Scanners are also becoming much much cheaper and common. Every XBox Kinect has one built in, of course it wouldn't work in this instance. But there are small desktop scanners out there. Just like with the printers they may not be completely ready for modeling, but they will be here very very soon.
  22. I was just about to ask this! I'm turning the 2013 Boss and 1970 Torino Talladega into Cobra Jets.
  23. I'm about to start this kit and even in my mockup I could tell the fascias didn't fit well. Did you have trouble getting the chassis and body to fit also? Mine are a tight squeeze.
  24. Thanks everyone! The truck was originally gourmet to be a tow rig for my Galaxie 36' but gonna build the Meng F350 for that now. I think I'll sand it down, dechrome the bumpers and spray it flat black. Make it a shop truck.
