  1. This is Master work. Just amazing, Steve ? !
  2. You definitely have a knack for this sort of thing... super nice build ? It's amazing what can be done with spare parts and Evergreen. ?

    Gassers

It looks pretty good to me, close to scale on your build. Did you get it from Scale Hobbies or the Plastruct site ? They showed 1:48 in a single diamond pattern and 1:16 too. I may try the 1:16, should be close enough. Aluminum diamond plate is an ideal material for this type of vehicles and I want it!! What did you use for the metal finish?

I just did and for 1:24 scale they have "double diamond " plate but not the usual type (single diamond?). Oh well....thanks for the link, though.

I am in awe. These Gassers are excellent! An incredible amount of work shows on every one. I especially like the "aluminum" diamond plate. Where can I get that? I have tried to find it without success.
  6. I would love to get one of these. I had a 1:1 '62 convertible back in the day. Reclining buckets were handy on Saturday nights. ?
  7. As old as those cutters are, there's lots of DNA on them ?
  8. That's the one I have. Got it on clearance somewhere. I know it's historic but it's way too long. Won't fit in a regular display box. Good for parts though ?
  9. Keep some band-aids handy. I have a box of band-aids within my reach at all times ?

  11. I would have been quite disappointed with the Daytona. I have one already that I don't want to build ? but I could sell the box on Ebay for hundreds, maybe thousands of dollars!?
  12. They have that disclaimer on the '53 Stude in a tin box. How many choices do they have on that one? I was going to order it but then I saw the "note" down below the description so I started looking around and ordered another '29 roadster ?
  13. I'm not good enough with my airbrush to be able to do realistic flame art. It's a nice look; unusual but gaining popularity among 1:1 custom painters. I like it but It's not traditional (yet) . This 1:1 below is awesome but not a possibility for my limited abilities. There's probably a tutorial on it.
  14. Great! I ordered a kit last week.?

    RUST.

Does anyone here have any experience with AK rust or weathering pencils? I saw a cool video on YouTube demonstrating the versatility of these things. Just wondering if they're worth messing with.

I have an abundance of fenders to practice on and I plan to put some minor dents in my next build, the '41 Chevy pickup. I'm psyched! ? Thanks, Mark!
  17. Thank you for the compliment and the link. Im going there now!
  18. Yes, without modifications this body style has a nice overall look of moving forward, it says "fast". Chrysler rolled out "the forward look", as they called it, in '54 but they were playing catch- up. I have always had a feeling of familiarity for the ford's of the early '50s. The first car in my life was a '51 and it was still new when I was born. This is the second of 3 kits. The next one will be O O B stock because in my mind the Crestline Victoria hardtop is a classic.

The tractor is incredibly realistic. The dents on the '40 are completely believable ( how was it done?) This is so realistic I think it would fool a lot of people.

The paint mixer is genius, Mark, and I've got an old sabre-saw thats just sitting in my truck rusting quietly. Yeah, the iron stuff can be like concrete after sitting a few hours. I do all that you mentioned with it but I'll be doing a rust project soon so I'll be doing plenty of experiments. I'll look for that IH thread, that's gotta be interesting ? I looked at a lot of YouTube videos yesterday and there are many interesting techniques to try.
  23. Yup, everything they said, I agree. ? beautiful, clean, well detailed.
