Newly reissued Revell BRE Datsun 510 Racecar kit
Daddyfink replied to '70 Grande's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
The 90's re-issue came in the original style box, with the exception being the omission of the 2.5 Championship logo. The latest one has that awful Revell picture/art/photoshop mess with the picture being that of the restored car. And from what I am hearing, the newer issue has better done decals and the one piece tires. Original Issue 1996 re-issue And the last issue And just for fun, the Union Japan kit from the late 80's early 90's And the Advent version -
Same kit, different decals

I am going to try and find the correct decals for it, hopefully someone is still making them. Here is one on the board http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=92110 And this one I found on the web

The ol' MPC Chevelle Stock car from a LHS that is trying to bring in model builders. They mainly do R/C. And the Hasegawa 1/48 Macross Valkyrie VF-1S/A Super Valkyrie Skull Squadron I picked up at the Secret Society of Modelers yearly show at Gillespie Field

Looking for a good donor kit for chassis...

Bantam Chassis rear half with a Tony Nancy Double Dragster front half, that is how I would try it -
Quite a few of the early Funnies where still based on actual steel bodies and had working doors. Except for this crazy looking flip top beast, which still looks like it has working doors

The way I usually describe the shows in Buena Park are, The Sights, The Sounds and The Smells! As a vendor, I usually give some pretty good deals and the thing I notice the most is folks not asking for prices or asking if I could work on the price of something. I am amazed how many times someone will pick something up and look at it, even asking me if they can open the box to look at it, and still start walking away. Then I will call them back to inquire as to why they did not ask for a deal or just walk away. Most don't think you are willing to budge on a price or assume it will be too much. Most of the time they end up buying it!! I once thought about selling bars of soap at the kit shows and my friend Skip told me it would be a waste of time, they would just carve them up in to bunkers or sandbags for dioramas!

American Graffiti figures ?
Daddyfink replied to 57peppershaker's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
I know it came with a standing Landy figure, but I have not seen one with a seated driver. The Revell Royal Pontiac 66 GTO came with the seated driver in the tiger costume -
I would like to add a Novacaine to the collection. My Altered Nova needs a bookend!

NASCAR -- this floored me
Daddyfink replied to B_A_R's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
We sent model kits to the troops, almost for a few years during the war in Iraq and Afghanistan, and they once wrote us back to thank us and asking us to please stop sending NASCAR kits! -
I gave up on Hot Rod Deluxe, too much reprint stuff in it.
